Seeking Local Swimming Pool for the Summer

Hi,

I am interested in getting a membership to a local pool or club that has a pool for the summer. Last summer my family had a membership to Lifetime Fitness which we loved, BUT we weren't able to use it enough to be worth the $130 a month. I live in Mckinney and there are several pools in my subdivision but they aren't kept clean, and don't have a good pool for toddlers/preschool age kids.

Does anyone know of any nice pools that you can obtain a membership to? I am willing to go to Allen/Frisco as well.

Thanks!!
T.

What can I do next?

We join the pool at the Plantation. It has many ledges and a walk in entry which is good for my toddler. We really like it and think it is clean. There is a lifegaurrd on staff but it is swim at your own risk. I think it is $250 for May to September.

This is a great pool for the little ones and its indoor so no worry about sun burns or rain!!! We spent a lot of time here last summer and they also offer swimmming lessons if you're interested.

If you look on the city of McKinney's web site, they do have a couple of pools around the city. I haven't been there myself, but I've heard that Allen's natatorium is awesome and they off memberships. I think the city of frisco recently opened one too. In plano, i know the YMCA on Tennyson has a pool. As for outdoor pools, again I haven't been there myself, but I've heard great things about it, is Jack Carter pool off of Custer.
Hope that helps!

We have a pool day during the summer every Thursday. We wanted to go to the natatorium in Allen (we'd heard great things), but we decided on Oak Point in Plano. It has a great variety (indoors and out) and is I think much cheaper. The pools in McKinney are all on the east side, and we enjoy them as well at times. Never had a bad experience, they just seem to be a little older and overcrowded with pre-teen girls and boys chasing each other. I am not sure of the age they can be dropped off at, but some parents seem to think that 10 is old enough to be left along...I will never leave my child left unsupervised at a public pool. Good luck...
