Celebration Park is GREAT!! There's a large play area as well right beside it...it's in Allen (5-10 minutes away), you can find it online!!
I am new to Plano and would like to know if there are any public "splash" parks for kids. I am looking for the kind where the water squirts up from the ground in different spots.
I would appreciate any recommendations for area water activities for my 2 and 4 year-olds.
Thanks!!

Hi B.. There is a splash park in Allen called Celebration Park. Jack Carter is in PLano and has a great kid pool area. It is a zero entry, and the water doesn't get to high for my little guy who is almost 2. It has a acouple slides and fun stuff for the kids plus it is gated.
Yes, I'd agree that it sounds like you're looking for something that's found at Celebration Park in Allen ... they have limited hours though -- open Noon to 8 p.m. every day except Wed; closed Wed for maintenance. See city of Allen page: http://www.cityofallen.org/parks/Celebration_Park.htm

And Oak Point Rec Center Pool in Plano (Jupiter and Spring Creek) has an outdoor pool area that has spray park features ... really cute pool area! We've had swim lessons here before.

I've heard that Jack Carter Pool in Plano has a smaller version of this in addition to their regular outdoor pool [I personally haven't been here though]...

Celebration Park in Allen is great!! Finch Park in McKinney has a splash ground too. Also, Hawaiian Falls w/ locations in The Colony & Garland both have areas that are suitable for the age of your children.
There is also a splash park at the Frisco Commons park. The Address is 8000 McKinney Rd, Frisco, TX..... It seems to get busy around 10:30/11am
There is a place in THE COLONY. HAWAIIAN FALLS, I think is the name. It is alot of fun for big kids and little ones too
Celebration Park in Allen is great. They also just opened up a new smaller splash park in north Dallas near Hillcrest and Campbell - at Campbell Green park. They just opened this park up on the 4th of July. There is a nice splash park and a regular park right next to it, plus a bike/walking trail.
Hi, B.! Since your kids are 4 and 2, Celebration Park (as already mentioned) has the water garden (not a pool) and a huge playground which would be suitable for both kids but you'll probably want to take at lease another person to watch one while the other goes in a different direction!
As also already mentioned - Jack Carter Pool (Independence and Maumelle) in Plano would be great for both aged kids. This is a pool, though. The 2-year old would like the splash side which is like a water playground with about a foot of water. The 4-year old (if like my 4-year old) prefers the big pool. Both pools are separated by a fence so, again, you might want to take another person with you in case your kids want to be in their own pools!
celebration park in Allen is huge and fun. Very crowded though in the summer.
I know one in McKinney. Look under parks on the net and McKinney.

Since nobody has mentioned it, I thought I would mention the Natatorium in Allen. They have an awesome indoor pool with kids splash area. It is open during the day and afternoons during school. They also offer year round swim lessons. It is off Exchange just before you reach Ave K.
Hi B.,
I don't know of any in Plano, but the one in Allen is wonderful and free. It is located off of Exchange Parkway and Angel Parkway. I started taking my son when he was very little and he is now 3. Very clean, restrooms, concessions and playground, too.
Jack Carter Pool
2800 Maumelle Drive, Plano, TX ###-###-####
Located: just East of Independence Parkway, between Spring Creek and Legacy
It is just $2.00 for adults and kids under 6 are free. The splash park opens at 10 am. You can also bring your own drinks and lunch!
We actually take a our kids to the City of Plano Oak Point Rec Center(located at the corner of Jupiter & Spring Creek Parkway just east of 75) which has both an indoor and outdoor pool. It's only about $3 per person and is great for small children.
The only one I know of is in the city of Allen. It is called Celebration Park and is really nice!
B.,
I know you wanted Plano, but McKinney has a nice small one at Finch Park (near downtown) that has a lot of large trees that shade the surrounding play areas (1 for smaller ones & 1 for the big ones). It is situated in a way that your kids can't slip away w/t you noticing and it's normally pretty empty before lunchtime.

There is a wonderful one in Allen. You could go the City of Allen Parks Web site for more information.
There is a rec center on Spring Creek and Jupiter (Oak Point Recreaction Center) that you can join - they have an indoor and outdoor pool. I 'm not sure what their annual fee is for a family, but it's definitely more reasonably priced than a chain gym like 24 Hour Fitness.
