I am looking for a group that I can bring my son with me. We did mommy and me for a year but it seems like I have even more questions now that hes a toddler. Does anyone know of any groups in Elk Grove or close to the Elk Grove area?

Hi K.L.,
The Elk Grove Moms Group is no longer active (I'll remove the old post, thanks!).
Moms in Elk Grove (as well as Galt, Wilton, Greenhaven/The Pocket, Laguna West, Vintage Park/Vineyard, and West Sac) are welcome to join the 30 and 40-Something Moms of Elk Grove:

Welcome to the area and we look forward to meeting you!

Try meetup.com. I have found a couple of different mommy groups there. You can locate them by area so you can find some close to your house. Good luck. It is nice to have other "mommy" friends you can turn to when needed. Also, I have seen some listed on craigslist at various times. You could check there too.

Hi Diane,
Are you a stay-at-home mom? In Elk Grove, there are 4 MOMS Clubs. If you go to www.momsclub.org, type in your zip code, they will let you know which club is in your area. MOMS Club is an international group that is all over the US, meant for sahms and part-time working moms. Each club has playgroups and lots of activities throughout the month for you and your son to do.
It is a lot of fun, I have made many, many friends and so have my kids through the club.
Good luck!

I was in the MOMS Club of Elk Grove (they have a chapter for Laguna too) and I loved it. I don't remember the web address but if you google it I am sure it will come up. They were a lifesaver for me when I was at home with young children. Enjoy!

I hope you find a group. If you don't, consider starting one. The First 5 Sacramento Commission has a Community Grant program that has supported playgroups in the past. There is an application process and an upcoming deadline of Friday, November 7th. Grants up to $5,000 are available to do projects/activities that benefit children 0 to 5 and connect parents/caregivers to strengthen communities. Visit www.first5sacramento.net for more information about the Community Grants and other First 5 Sacramento programs.
