I am a member of my local MOMS Club.
It's a philanthropic group that is great for socializing and we have baby groups, toddler groups, all ages play groups, swim parties, moms night out, movies in the afternoon for moms once a month, de-clutter club, we have it all.........
i highly recommend finding the MOMS Club nearest you to join!

I great way to meet other moms and kids is to join Meetup (www.meetup.com)
Or you can join Moms Club International. I moved to L.A. in May and have joined both groups and have met so many moms that live in my neighborhood through these groups. Most cities in and around L.A. have meetup groups and moms club groups in them.

Hi T., I live in LA as well. I'm 26 and have a 3 and a half year old daughter. There is a big age gap b/w our kids, but my daughter Nadia raelly enjoys smaller kids, and i don't think we'll have any more so, maybe your son could be like a little brother for her. (and ofcourse she could be like a big sister for him!) we'll see...what do you think?
