Seeking New Veterinarian in McKinney Area

Hi A.! I'm not who you have been using, but I also switched Vet's about 3 months ago and have been very pleased with Dr. Shelton at 380 West Animal Hospital at Lake Forest and 380. His prices are extremely reasonable and he really cares about the patient AND you! I have recommended Dr. Shelton to several of my clients and all of them are equally impressed.

I'll third Dr. Shelton. I've used him for around 10 years, since before he was in McKinney! (I drove into Plano just to see him then!)

I totally understand! My dog had a VERY serious blood disorder and almost died and if it wasn't for our vet office, he would not still be with us because it is such a rare condition. It is in Plano, but I drive all the way because I don't trust anyone else with my dogs. They are kind (everyone in the office), helpful and truly love animals. They also groom there, which is nice too. It's called Preston Park Animal Clinic and it is on Preston Rd, just past the George Bush. Our dr. is Dr. Riley, but we have seen several there and LOVE all of them.

CHANDLER LINDSLEY IS JUST FABULOUS! She has put down our Golden and did it with such compassion. She takes care of our cat and Yorkie now. She is on Custer, next to the Wallmart. Number is ###-###-####.
She never does anything excessive. Great hours, even Sunday pm!

Hi A....I know very well how much our pets become part of the family...ours too!

Our neighbors recommended our vet when we moved into our house 16 years ago, and I will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Blonien saved my cat's life! His partners are super!

BTW...I'll fourth on Dr. Shelton that the other writers are talking about...he was Dr.Blonien's partner for many years and has started his own practice...he's wonderful!

I have lived in McK most of my life and have used several vets in that time. Dr Bloomer, Dr Eslinger, and Dr Hickman are all great. I have found that Dr Hickman is the most reasonable. He also does many animal rescues and treats ALL kinds of pets.

I second Dr. Shelton at the 380 animal clinic. We know him personally and have used him as a vet, and were very pleased. He knows what he is doing and is very helpful. Prices are great!

I highly recommend Custer McDermott Animal hospital. It is located at Custer and McDermott in Allen just south of McKinney. The vets there are amazing and saved my dog 5 years ago. She was very ill and he came in on his day off and opened the office just to treat her (he had his infant with him too). He was very sensitive to our feelings and had a gentle way to give us the reality of our situation. He is very dedicated and they really do care. I love my dogs soo much they are part of our family. My dog went into remission a time or two and each time we were treated great. He has wonderful bed-side manner. [Our doggie lived and was healthy after that thanks to the wonderful care of this vet office].

McKinney Animal Hospital on Eldorado near Lake Forest. The staff is excellent! Just had our Pug in there and they were wonderful!

We have been going to Highlands Eldorado Veterinary Hospital since we moved here 8 yrs ago. We have entrusted 3 of our pets with Dr. Taylor and I feel confident that he does the very best for them. Dr. Taylor and his staff are great! We have watched his business grow over the years, but he is still very concerned w/ each & every animal he treats. We went through a rough year w/ my cat when she got lupus and ended up putting her to sleep. Then a year or so later, we had a lot of issues with one of our dogs and found out she has Addisons disease. Dr. Taylor helped us find the right medications and she is doing great and no one would ever know that she's sick.

I have been taking my animals to the Animal Medical Center off of Jordan and Virginia Pkwy for 5yrs now. They have been wonderful. They are very caring and helpful. We had to put our dog down in 2007 and they were great about it. They let my son go in and say goodbye to her before and after. They charge 30 dollars to walk through the door, but its well worth it. Dr. Farmer at perky paws in McKinney (8901 Virginia Parkway accross from home depot)is Awesome! You can tell she is a pet lover, we took our cat to her and she really took good care of her! Good luck

I highly recommend Virgina Parkway Pet Hospital, ###-###-####. The vet is so wonderful with my cats. She has a very loving and soothing persona. And she was very thorough with testing when my one cat had lost too much weight and we were concerned that bigger health issues were at cause. Thankfully, that wasn't the case, but it was good to know our vet was as concerned as we were!
