Seeking Opinions on Various Places for Children's Photography

I'm wondering if there is a general consensus out there about the best places to have infants photographed? We had professional pictures taken at the 3 month mark that were gorgeous but VERY pricey. We'd love to continue documenting our little one's growth and are wondering about places like BRU, Target, Sears and JC Penney. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I always go to JC Penny's in NOrth Attleboro,MA and ask for Sheila to take the photo's. I have been going their for the past 4 years and the pictures come out great. I print out the coupon on the internet from JC Penny's. I also have had the pictures taken at BRU when I was in a pinch for them fast. JC Penny's you have to wait a week for the pictures, and BRU you receive them after the pictures have been taken. Check out their websites and compare prices.

Hi J.,
My daughter is almost four, and I have had a lot of luck with JC Penney-the only other one I have tried is Target-which REALLY did not impress me-from the customer service, to the photographer, I just felt like a number-but I feel like Penney's, even though they are so busy, takes the time needed to get some really good pictures.

Congratulations!

My son is 6 1/2 and daughter is nearly 4 and from birth we have had all their photographs done at Kiddie Kandids inside BRU. We have been thrilled with them every time - they have always taken as much time as they needed to get the right shots. My only complaint is that since we have been going there for over 6 years we are running out of props, but they are always adding to their backgrounds, so we always have at least one new idea.

We have really loved the work of Portrait Simple. One of the stores is located at the natick mall and there are some other locations.(maybe Chestnut Hill?) You can look them up on the web. The prices are reasonable and we have always had some great shots

Hi J.,
My son is 4 and I have always taken him (since he was a newborn) to Kiddie Kandids which is located in Babies R Us (I go to the one in N. Attleboro). They are awesome and the pics come out really good. The photographers there are great with the kids and do a great job getting them to pose/smile. And they are very reasonably priced ($19.99 a sheet). They also usually offer some pretty good deals/packages.

Good luck in your search!

I have had good luck at BRU, AND they take BRU gift cards, which we had a bunch of. I have gone to Target, because my sister-in-law has had some really beautiful pictures, but I haven't had much luck. It really is all about the photographer, sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you don't.
Good Luck
