Portrait Taking at Walmart?

We have never gone to Walmart, but have been to Target and JC Penney. We liked them well enough and their prices were great, but backdrops were generic that we got bored after awhile. We have since found a photographer that does great pics on location and at a studio so we have been with her for several years.

I know this isn't exactly what you asked but do you have a kmart nearby they have an Olan mills studio.. Go to olanmills.com. U can print online coupons to take to your session.. Beautiful pictures people think I go to really expensive place lol.

yes. they turned out cute. they usually have a special of like 30 pics for $8.00. This is for the 1st pic taken. Any pics after that, that you want, they have a minimum package of $100. at least they did. I haven't used them in 3 years.

You know... you can just take photos yourself.
That is what we have done.
Just in our own home.
And it turns out great.
And you then just get it printed at Costco or something.
Lots cheaper than a photo studio.

Well, if Wal Mart is the only game in town, I would try it. I think you'll find people's experiences differ because a lot depends on the particular photographer(s) working at each O..
I found a really great lady at J. C. Penney and always like what she did.

O. thing for sure "not-so-perfect" pictures are always better than no pictures, right?

they do an ok job, and the price is very low. You will get better pictures at someplace like sears, but you will also pay much more for them.

I took mine to walmart but I personally say look for a Portrait Innovations I take mine there now they are great and for 10 bucks you got 1 10x13 2 8x10 4 5x7 either 4 or 8 3x5 and i think 32 wallets where u barely get half that at walmart, and as far as around here the people at Portrain Innovations are much better than the ones at walmart good luck

I agree with S.H. We have always taken our kids pictures ourselves. I did take them to JC Penny and Picture Me, I was unhappy with the results and the prices. You can do it, save money and get exactly what you want :)

Many of my dgd's pictures have been taken at the Picture Me in WM -- most have been pretty good to really good, a couple not so -- but it really all depends on the photographer (at any location - OlanMills at a Meijer took "ok" pics, glad I wasn't paying for them, kids had runnin noses IN the pix!)

I did walmart about 9 years ago. They turned out ok.

I have had many milestone and family pics taken at Wal-Mart. I have liked not only thier prices but thier pictures much better than Sears or JC Penney!! I haven't had good luck with the others... but I have always been very happy with the ones from Wal-Mart!!

I have tried to take pictures myself.. they usually turn out pretty good.. but it takes SO much longer me trying to get them to sit still and snap a good pic compaired to them listening to a stranger sit still and smile! Its worth it in my opinion!

My sister went and she had only a few shots to choose from all with the same pose. Then they made her sit through MANY more shots with different backgrounds and poses, which was frustrating with a little one. This is how they get you to spend more that the 8.88 or whatever the price is. The pictures did come out nice though. I would give it a try and decide if you will be a returning customer.

We've done pictures at wal-mart many many times. They have always turned out great (and the stores were in different states and cities LOL). The package pose is usually a pretty standard pose and any other poses/backgrounds will cost you extra, but their prices are pretty good overall so even with extra's it'll be a TON cheaper than most other places.

I don't go to any of the studio's now though ... my oldest niece will be graduting from college with a photography degree in the spring ... so I hire her to do all our pictures now :)

Yes! We love our Picture Me studio at our local walmart! They are sometimes a bit expensive but the pictures are always fabulous and the staff is wonderful.
