Seeking Pediatrician in Flower Mound Area

Wondering if anyone has a pediatrician they love in or near the Flower Mound area? Baby will be born at the end of January. I'm particularly looking for one who is open-minded about vaccinations (eg: doesn't mind a selective vaccination schedule as opposed to insisting that the child receive every vaccine known to man). I read good reviews about a doc in Frisco, but looking for someone closer, if possible. Any suggestions??

What can I do next?

I use Dr. Fitzgerald at MD Pedi. I really like him. we did a delayed vaccination schedule, and he was fine with it. I have never had to wait- they are friendly and the NP, Kim, is great.

Yep, we use Kids First Pediatrics too. We have seen all of the doctors, and nurse practitioners. I haven't had any problems with bedside manner. They ALWAYS get me in when I need to be seen, and call me back when I leave messages. They never keep us waiting for longer than 5 min in the waiting room, and they have well kid/sick kid waiting areas. I've been very pleased with the care my 3 have gotten. I also have numerous friends that use them that are very happy with the practice as well. In answer to your question about vaccines, my experience is that they are open to whatever you want. They have never forced their opinion on me about the subject. When I started vaccinating my 6 month old, they asked what vaccines I wanted to give. Good luck and congrats!

My twins have been at Kids First Pediatrics in Flower Mound for 6 years. I don't know their opinions on vaccine's as my children have followed the typical schedule, but I would suggest you interview multiple doctors before making a decision. I personally would find someone close to home if you can vs driving to Frisco to have a sick child seen at the last minute.

We chose Dr. Conger/Kids First, because we felt that she would be best for the needs of my boys - but, she is not warm and fuzzy. We only see her now if no one else is available. We love Dr. Kelkar and normally see Dr. Badaracco. I have been less than happy with the staff and the "bedside manner", if you will from the doctors. But, we stuck it out because I wasn't comfortable changing doctors (my children have some medical issues). Don't get me wrong, the doctors are very good at what they do, just the entire staff (except the nurses) lack that warm and fuzzy feeling I think they should have. I'm not sure I would choose them again with a newborn, unless we chose Dr. Kelkar from the start.

Congratulations!

We used Kids first for years and loved the doctors but we left due to the office staff. They were horrible. Never returned calls, messed up billing and a few other things. We have since been going to cooks children in Flower Mound. They have 3 different doctors all women and we love them. The office staff is awesome and the doctors are wonderful. I highly recommend them.

When my oldest was a baby and sick a lot (19 now) I loved Dr Holt and Dr Kincaid at MD Pediatrics, http://www.mdpedi.com/ (they are in Flower Mound)

My youngest (11), now sees Dr Conger at Kids First Pediatric in Highland Village. They are great too, but I don't need a pediatrician as often now. http://kidsfirstpediatrics.com/

I have tried both MD pedi and Kids First and had a bad experience with both. But I do know moms that go to both of them and they are fine with them. We go to 18 and Under in Flower Mound and I love them. There are 2 docs, and 2 NP. Small group and return my messages quickly and get me in same day when either one of my girls, 4 and 7 months, are sick. Good luck.

I also recommend MD Pediatrics. We've been pleased with the quality of care and the kindness towards children at their office. My son has been going there since he was 18 months old (he is now 7 years old).

They have offices in Flower Mound and Coppell, with late evening appointments available.

The office is supportive of selective/delayed vaccination.
