thanks so far for the advice everyone! we have a playgroup started!! Anyone who would like to attend go to Lake Zorinskey Wed. the 16th at 10am weather permiting. If the weather is yucky lets plan on meeting at a local mall (Is oakview ok? ) I hope this works we mommies could use the social interaction as well as our toddlers! :) Can't wait!! I would love to join a playgroup if we can find a couple more moms! My son turned 2 yrs in May and his two older brothers start school on monday so my days will be with him. I live around 108th and Dodge area but am willing to drive. Hope to hear from you!

L., try going to meetup.com, I joined this great Bellevue playgroup. I believe they also have one in Omaha, but if not they have a great way to start one. Also, you can try to get in contact with New Friends of Omaha, which also does a playgroup, except for summer.

I have a 20 month old boy named Tyler, who I would like to also get into a playgroup. I have been here about 5 years now and we don't have many young kids in the neighborhood. I am from NY and also have no family around so I know how you feel.
We live at 156th and Blondo(north of you). Have you gone to Lake Zorinsky or Oakview Mall with your little one? The lake has a nice playground and the mall has a play area also. Maybe we could meet up and let the kids play.

We're a bit far away from your area, but I would agree that the Westroads play area is a good spot for kids to play and meet other moms.

Welcome to Omaha L.. Unfortunately I work a full time and part time job along with being the mother of 2 beautiful girls and 1 TALLLLLL stepson...so I would not be available for a play group...however I've found that the quickest and best place to meet mommies and build a rapor with them is at the mall in the play area. Westroads mall has a play area called Camp Westroads...I've met several nice families there. Oakview mall also has a smaller area, but not as easy of an opportunity to meet people. Hope this helps!
