My 9 year old adores his guitar teacher so much, he has gotten my husband excited about also taking lessons. His teacher's name is Matt, and he comes to our home on Saturdays. If he is truly interested in playing guitar, I recommend the Esteban series that is available on qvc.com. They are priced quite reasonable and instructions are easy, but the technique is far from ordinary or traditional guitar lessons. You may want to look into this before placing your son.
