Ok, Pumpkin Spice Gurus: I am in search of THE BEST pumpkin pie spice drink (preferably a shake). I have never had one (pumpkin pie is generally really not my thing) but I have had a mega craving for about a month and of course pumpkin-spice everything is being served everywhere right now. But I don't want to splurge on the $ and calories unless I know it's going to be worth it! Side note, I keep trying to create "healthy" alternatives to curb this craving...but after making pumpkin spice yogurt, pumpkin pancakes and pumpkin all-fruit smoothie this month, it is time to go splurge and get something full fat and delicious. Oh and our grocery store hasn't gotten it's typical fall ice creams yet. (but of course has its Christmas decor up. Lame!) This craving is not going away!

So, what is your favorite pumpkin pie spice drink or shake and where do I get it?! I am in Utah by the way :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Manda, I have tried making a few variations of pumpkin pie spice yogurt, basically just mix some canned pumpkin into plain or vanilla yogurt, add sweetener or sugar, add pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon, cloves, ginger. etc to taste. I do think it is yummy, especially with greek style yogurt since it is thicker. Today I put it into the ice cream maker to make frozen yogurt. I think it is a good everyday kind of meal or snack but decidedly not the sinful treat I am searching for! lol. I also tried making a smoothie...and it WAS good...but I am not gonna lie, I can be a bit adventurous in my food substitutions so you might find this a bit grody. I used frozen banana, canned pumpkin, a few cut up apples, a frozen pear, a cup of cooked oatmeal, some milk, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice and blended it in the blender. My kids really liked it and it did have a pumpkin pie flavor.

Do you want pumpkin WITH spice, or just the spice? There's a difference.

One of my favorite things to do is put cinnamon in my coffee grounds. You can put pumpkin pie spice in your grounds too. It ends up brewed into your coffee, without the gritty spices at the bottom of your cup. YUM! Add a touch of creamer and sweetener.

I imagine that you can put a dash of pumpkin pie spice into your favorite vanilla shake and get a yummy taste too.

Ooh, talk to me about the pumpkin spice yogurt! The health alternatives you mentioned have me interested!

(I personally don't like the latte from Starbucks...but I love pumpkin bread and pie!!!)

To me, the BEST is from Jack in the Box, but I can not have it because it is not here.

The second best is from Baskin Robbins aka 31 flavors.

My fave is Rubys diner but they are few and far between. Jack in the box are also really yummy.

I really like pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, but the closest Starbucks is a good drive away. I would put some vanilla bean ice cream, puréed pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and some milk in a blender and make your own shake. (It sounds good in theory)

I indulge in pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks often. No, there isn't any actual pumpkin in the drink but it's still great.

Pumpkin pie shakes from places such as Jack in the Box, Red Robin and Cold Stone Creamery are also quite tasty.
