Seeking Triple Stroller Suggestions

I've been using Peg Perego car seat and stroller with my first child. Now I have twins, so I bought another peg perego carseat. So far, I just used a hand-me-down double stroller, but my 2yr old want to ride in the stroller too. It makes sense to get the Peg Perego Triplett , but its over a $1,000.00 ! I see used ones, but they don't have the 'steering wheel'. thoughts? suggestions ? .... I definitely need a 3rd seat, and I love the fact that Peg Perego's 3 seats will all fully recline? Do I go with the used one, and skip the steering wheel? ... or bite the bullet and buy new ? .. or maybe someone out there has a better idea ?

Hi

I bought a seat2go from litaf and attached it to a double snap and go for the first 9 month or so. my older daughter could either sit or stand on it, very convinient and cheap.
Now I have double umbrella stroller and put a buggy board for my older daughter in the back. She was 3 and the twins 10 month when I started that. It is not a set up to go on long walks but very convenient to have all three in one small space if you cross streats, in a parking lot or in the mall.
I also have a safari double jogger where I can place one child in the middle in the front without additional seats. Works great.

Good luck.

I am convinced you will not need an expensive stroller. Soon they will run mostly around and you will only need a stroller as a short back up.

I own a preschool and just purchased two quad strollers for $399.00 each. They are great, they recline and are very durable because they are made for daycare use. I am sure they make a triple stroller that costs less then $1,000.00. The name of the company is Stroller Babies the website is www.strollerbabies.com. The brand name is Angeles. You can google it I know other companies sell it but strollerbabies has free shipping which is also a savings. Good luck!!

Dont buy a new one. The 2 y/o will soon be running around and not want to be in the stroller. When I was a foster mom I had a triple that could convert to a twin. I could remove the middle seat. I dont know if they still make them, but buying used would be the way to go. Check out Craigs list or freesell.

Dear MOM,

LOL Can't have everything, I guess your gonna need to get one with OUT the steering wheel.

If you buy new, there is no way you'll get your money back, but if you buy used, there is a good chance you can re-sell it for about the same.

i have the valco twin, and all 3 of my kids ride in it. i usually have the 2 youngest in the seats, and then my oldest sits either on the footrest, or i recline one of the seats and sit the little one all the way back and the oldest can sit in front of them, there is plenty of room. they also sell a jumpseat for a toddler that clips on in the center, perfect for your situation, but i never needed it. i really think you would get more use out of it than a triple, and it is certainly more convenient, and certainly cheaper, though still expensive. it is so comfortable, you can steer it with one hand, it folds so easily, plenty of storage, and its a jogging stroller so it goes on grass, gravel, dirt, even sand to some degree. its wonderful.

Hi M.
I couldn't have bought a thousand dollar stroller, and I don't think I would have paid even for the used one.
I guess you have to determine how much you will use it in the next year, because at 3 the oldest won't want to be in the stroller, and by the time my girls were 18 mos they were only in the stroller part of the time. We had to drive an hour to go to mall etc our most common use for stroller when the twins were born. By the time they could walk they needed to be walking once they got to the mall so they would sit on the way home. The big stroller no longer was necessary and I used the little double umbrella stroller so much more because of the weight.
Now if you go out running, walking etc every day on sidewalks etc, then maybe you would get the use of it, but I can tell you I would not have. We live in the country and everything is a drive, and no sidewalks.
Can you fit the two little ones on one side, and the older one on the other for the times when the older one wants to ride? I could have in my big stroller, obviously not the umbrella.
Another suggestion I got when mine started walking that worked well was holding hands actually it would be have them hold your little finger and the other your thumb of the same hand. It is sort of like driving oxen, but especially if your twins want to be together it saves a lot of trouble and you would have your second hand free for the older one.
God bless you and your family

There's a side-by-side double stroller out there, I want to say that it's by Valco, and it has a jump-seat attachment for toddlers that goes on the front... Yes, Valco. It attached to any Valco stroller and it's called the Tri-mode. Google it. It's not that expensive and it's worth it.

Go to consignment shops. Heck it it has wheels and you
can put the three of them in it. Guess you will need
to compromise.

Me being a single mom, I would go with the cheaper one. If there's only one steering wheel and three kids...they are gonna fight as to who gets to play with it.

My son was just over 2 when my twins were born and we were very happy with our decision to buy a City Style Double BabyJogger. The two seats recline almost completely so we never used infant seats in it - the 5 point harnesses were great even from birth. Our son sat on the front where there is a foot rest for the seats. Even now almost 3 years later they still ride like that on the rare occation we take the stroller out. Honestly the Baby Jogger was the bedst thing we bought - but we were looking for riudes on the road, gravel, snow and grass, so small wheels were never an option for us. Before you buy anything I would strongly suggest that you put the 2 year old in strollers that you try out - online reviews told us that the seats of many doubles are uncomfortable - and my son definatly agreed. We tried them out in stores and then ended up buying online (sad for the store, but good for our pockets). Good luck - don't spend too much!
