I see these celebrities advocating Shape-ups and I know they get paid for their praise....

So I'm asking you, do you really see a difference (butt & legs) just by wearing them (no extra workout) ????

Thanks so much !!!!!!

They are BAD for you! I know several people who were told by podiatrists, rheumetologists and physical therapists to NOT buy these shoes. They lead to ingrown toenails, strained tendons and L.-term leads to spine problems because of the angle they have you stand/walk.

I have the Easy Spirit "Anti-gravity" version and I love mine. I work 12 hr shifts and since wearing these shoes my back and knee problems are virtually gone. I don't hear great things about the actual Shape-Ups.

There have been several studies that show no benefit from the shoes. Basically it is the same as when you wear heels you are not used to. Yeah it makes your caves hurt but once you are used to them, nothing. My boss (who I hate) bought them several months ago. She goes on about the benefits as she eats like a pig, she is still just as fat and no tone that anyone in the office can see. :p

I love mine. However, I like them for a different reason - they keep my knees from hurting.

There is a lawsuit against them right now because they cause serious injury and do nothing to help tone your body by just walking around in the shoes.

What Jo G. said...several scientific studies have been done on all those "toning" shoes and they just make your muscles sore for a while because you are using new muscles. They do nothing to tone you anywhere long term. Waste of money IMO...

I have the reebok runtones and totally feel and see the difference, even after only a month. My friend has the easytones and says the same. Their technology is better than the skechers.

I absolutely love my Shape-ups. I have had 3 pair. Now, I can't say that they have helped my butt or legs look better, but I have not had any knee issues since I started wearing them and I have not had any plantar fasciitis either. I wear them pretty much daily and unless I have to dress up! I never get sore when I wear them, but I do try to workout.

I bought the ones for running, but was not impressed, my feet hurt horribly the next day.

I also have the Reebok EasyTone, and I do not like them. They are not comfortable and are very awkward to walk in.

Good luck!

I think that the only thing that will tone your muscles or help with your health is just a good diet and exercise....However I do have a pair of Shape ups and I feel very comfortable on them, the rest about Shape ups or alike is just propaganda and marketing!!!!

If you want your legs and butt firmer you have to work for it. I did find this quote from a orthopedic in Dallas. "Dr. Fabian Pollo, Director of Orthopedic Research at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, says that although the shoes increase muscle activation in the legs, the shoes are not a viable alternative to conventional workouts. "It's not a magic bullet of weight loss or toning your body. It can lead to some of those possible benefits but not to the extent you can replace exercise routine or diet," Pollo says."

Other issue can be strained Achilles tendons, balance problems and alignment issues.

I have a great workout program to lift and tone your butt. Message me if you would like more information.

I have a pair and I really like um for the first few weeks you feel it, I made the mistake of walking several miles in them the first day I had them my but and thighs were SO SORE the next couple of days, good sore though.
I don't wear them all the time especially since it started warming up. I don' t really SEE a difference, but I feel a difference I've got some excess cellulite I need to burn , and I HATE running.

My hubby owns them. He is actually starting to gain a bit of shape in his butt now after a few months of wearing them. He loves them for walking in, says his knees, heals and arches don't hurt nearly as much as flat shoes. I guess it all depends on each individual person and how they walk to begin with.

I have MBTs and ShapeUps. I do NOT use them for toning purposes. I have severe ankle and foot issues in which these shoes makes standing and walking a lot less painful and I wear them for days at a time.
