Shark Steam Mop - Chicago,IL

Has anyone ever tried the Shark deluxe steam mop that they sell on TV? The also sell it at Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, etc. I have all wood floors in my condo and I'm looking for something that can help me keep them sanitized now that my son is starting to get more mobile. It's steam, so it's supposed to be quick drying and safe for wood. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about it? I'd hate to spend the money if it's just junk... Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love it. I know my floor is clean after I use it. I did get it from Bed Bath and Beyond. Worth every penny to me.

I love mine too. I do wish I'd spent the extra money on the "deluxe" version. I can see how being able to flip the head while cleaning would be nice. The floors dry SUPER fast! You should go for it!

I love mine!!!!! I have 3 boys that tear up the house and it works great, even on wood.

I vaccum my floors first, then clean w the mop. throw in washer and done.

tip - the floors cannot be really dirty or it wont work good. i do mine everyday so it works for me. only takes 5 mins w the steam mop and dry riught away.

I bought the regular Steam Mop for myself for Christmas. Right after that I saw the ads for the new style, it pivots where mine doesn't. I think the pivot feature would be nice for cleaning around things like the toilet. I use mine throughout the house, in the bathroom to the kitchen. I also take it out to my FIL's house and clean out there on even different type flooring. I love it, it's nearly everything I wanted. I didn't realize it would be hard to get around things like the toilet so pivoting is definantly a good improvement. I can honestly tell you that it works just like on tv. I got a new dryer and found out a few minutes before they came to deliver it that it was coming, I found out when my husband started moving the broken dryer out of the house. Underneath was piled, packed goo. The guys called to ask our house number just as my husband got the dryer out the front door. I plugged in the mop, got the pad on the floor and attached, and started trying to get the goo up by the time they pulled in the driveway. I couldn't get the mop to slide over the goo because it was dry and sticky. I pumped the mop and let it sit on the goo for a moment and pushed down, back and forth a couple of times and it was gone. I love my mop.

I only have the Shark vacuum cleaner that I absolutely love. I can use it as a broom for the floors and as a vacuum for the rugs. I got it from Sam's Club for $79.

I LOVE it! The only complaint I have is that, as I also have all wood floors, it doesn't give them that shiny look that we'd love our floors to have. But, that's actually good, because I don't want my little girl falling down on a slipper floor. Instead of shiny, though, the floors just look CLEAN. And it is EASY.

I have one, and think it does a good job. It hasn't ruined my floors. It is very simple to use, and you do see the dirt on the cloth, so you know it is doing the job. I also have a cleaning lady once a month who will clean the wood floors on her hands and knees with vinegar and water. Nothing like good old-fashioned deep cleaning.

I like mine. I think it does a better job then the mop or "Bona" was doing, plus chemical-free is always a good choice.

I need to buy some extra pads, though because with a lot of tile and wood in my house, I have to split my floor cleaning around laundry and I don't get that "the whole house is totally clean at the same time" feeling.

Hello S.- I tried their Shark cleaning wands, and returned it. It was not the mop, but I fond the steam did not clean well, unless you put the steam jet on the dirt. I suspect the mop would work the same. The steam just was too cool when it was a little away from the jet.
