I'm searching for a sippy cup that doesn't leak. I've bought a wide variety, some cheap disposable and some expensive, but I have yet to find a sippy cup that doesn't leak! Any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Most of the cups recommended we had already tried without success. I bought the one with Cars on it from Walmart and the Nalgene sippy cup, both worked great! As for the cups with straws, we have them, but she just tips them like a sippy cup and makes a mess. I'm not worried about her speech, she speaks very clearly. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Take N Toss straw cups are cheap and don't leak. I can't figure out how they don't, but they really don't. After the get more broken in, they start to leak a little, but really they are one of the cheapest things I've gotten so it's not a big deal to replace them.

We exclusively use the Munchkin straw sippy cups. My son's speech therapist strongly urges parents to use straw cups instead of sippy cups for speech development, as well as deter any malformations in their mouths as a result of the hard "sippy" part. These cups are spill proof, and inexpensive. I buy them at Babies R Us as well as Target. I think Walmart has them too. Replacement straws/accessories can be bought at Munchkin.com. If you register on their website, they will send you a coupon - I love saving money! Good luck!

Try the Tummy Ticklers (google them) it's more of a bottle sipper than an actual cup and it does not leak at all and no extra pieces to lose or break. They initally come filled with apple juice. It's all that I use - just put the bottle and the tops in the dishwasher and viola - ready to fill. The only problem is that all the kids try to steal my sons bottle because they are so cute and fun. You can get them at Toys R Us, Shaws and I hear some Walmarts now. I happened upon them by accident but love them!!

I second the munchkin ones with the straw. I don't have the insulated ones Stephanie B mentioned, just regular ones and they are virtually leak proof even when the straw is up.

Nalgene makes a water bottle with a sippy cup top, which are great. I think we got them at Target. They have not leaked yet, even when my daughter brings it to bed with her and it ends up laying in her bed all night.

Sippy cups made by The First Years - are awesome. I don't know how old your little one is. These do not have any inserts you have to clean. I loved these when my son was going through this phase.

I feel your pain. I spent a small fortune trying to find one that didn't leak and, lo and behold, it was the least expensive ones that didn't leak! The best are the inexpensive Gerber ones available at any grocery store or pharmacy. I also found that the tall insulated Munchkin ones with a straw work well too (at ToysRUs).
Good luck!

We have tried a lot of sippies and I think that the Playtax are the best. Also, I agree that the straw cups are very good in developing oral motor skills. My son had speech delay and his therapist recommended them.

I bought some made by Gerber. They make a bunch of cups but these were tall & skinny. Just plain cylendar shape (no handles or hourglass shape). They have that little white plastic piece that snaps into the lid. I love them & have never had any trouble with them leaking. Not even when my daughter shakes them or drops them.
