I realize that sippy cups are most likely made to prevent full spills. However I'm wondering is there one out there that doesn't leak? Our son has taken to shaking his cups upside down to watch all the juice flow out. Uggh. Any suggestions appreciated. I am working to teach him "no", however he just turned one and right now this is a very fun game for him.

I bought my daughter a Tommee Tippee sippy cup that DOES NOT leak at all. However, it's the 6 month sippy so it is small, I haven't tried the T.T. Explora ones yet for older kids.
Hi there. I have a 2 year old he's not on sippy cups any more except for in the car. I use the spill proof tummy ticklers. They come with apple juice it's about 4-5 bucks for 3 cups (filled with juice) I them water it down and they're reusable and dishwasher safe..... they also come with character tops. My son prefers the toy story and the pack with "man" spider man and wolverine.. (never watched it but just loves it for some reason lol. He will shake them from time to time and i've never had an issue once a few month ago while in the stroller he threw it really hard at the ground and the little valve inside flew out and I couldn't get it back it. <~~~ thats the only issue I've ever had.... It's kind of like a sports bottle spout but spill proof and these cup are the ones I used to get him off sippy cups which was really easy because of the characters on top. in a few weeks i'm getting rid of them and he will still have the tops to play with as a toy (fun!) I love the playtex ones. They have a removable valve. Don't wash the valve in the dishwasher. It will loose its power. The only time they leak is when thrown on floor and only a drop or two comes out. They will not work as well if you put the valve in the dishwasher. I still have mine and they are 4 yrs old.
The Gerber graduate ones are the only ones we have that don't leak.
I've had luck with the Gerber ones. They come in packs of two, have two handles and are in like red and green. I think they're fabulous and we are on our second kid and they're still going strong!
I had the Nubys and they don't leak, unless it's my daughter and she flips the cup over and mashes the spout into the table repeatedly until the water comes out and the hole at the top remains open so anytime the cup is upside down, it leaks. I loved the Nubys and recommended them in the past. Now I'm sticking with Playtex. I don't have leakage problems and since the top is a hard plastic, she can't mash it to make the water come out.
We have the BPA free Nuby sippy cups and my little one is 9.5 months old and he has also picked up 'throwing the sippy cup on the floor is a fun game" from daycare. It holds the liquids very well and I have carried the sippy full of water in my diaper bag several times as well and it has never leaked. It is 2- handled so it helps my son to hold it and drink from it.
Playtex. Nuby ones leak, esp the soft spout. Anything with a soft spout can wear out and then the holes get bigger and it leaks. I haven't had good luck with the insulated tumblers....for some reason the valves don't seem to work as well as in the regular hard spout cups. I haven't bought any other kind since I first bought the Playtex ones.
I use the Gerber brand. It comes with an insertable valve. The valve makes it so there must be a sucking effort to extract the liquid. Holding it upside down will not result in liquid leaking. I have found if it falls from a moderate height or is whipped to the ground it may release a few droplets but not anything substantial.
Advent ones have worked for us. I've tried several and they are the only ones that don't leak that I've found. They are a little more expensive but I find to be so worth it!
Depends on how old your son is, but the Playtex Coolster tumblers work really well and haven't leaked much for us. They do have to be a little older though (around 2 maybe?) to figure out how to make it work. They are really the only ones I've found that don't leak. Good luck! HTH.
