Skin Rash/Irritation

My son is almost 4 months old and has started drooling like crazy. Ever since then he has a rash or skin irritation underneath his neck. He is kind of a chubby baby so there is a lot of skin and heat. He also has little bumps on his stomach and the inside of his elbows. Those areas don't look as bad as his neck but they do have little red bumps. The bumps on his stomach almost look like heat rash. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know what to do?

What can I do next?

Hi J.. I sent this info to you, but I wanted to share it with other moms too, in case they're having similar issues. I'm so glad to hear that the Arbonne Baby Care products helped clear up his cradle cap rash. And, I'm very sorry to hear about his new rash. And, yes, I believe our baby care products would work very well on his body rash. I would recommend giving him a bath using only the Arbonne baby care hair and body wash. Then, towel dry him really well, and put the Arbonne Baby Care lotion over his whole body. I think you'll see the rash clear up very quickly, possibly overnight. If that doesn't do the trick, then you might try the Arbonne Baby Care diaper rash cream on the specific rash areas. Good luck. I know it must be a little stressful to see your baby like this. But, I'm sure he'll be fine. :)
Sincerely, M. O.

Hi J.,
I am not so sure about the rashes you are describing being from him drooling...not sure how it would get on his elbows to the point of irritation. I did want to share what I learned from my pediatrician...my child's face was getting red and staying irritated. She told me to use Aquaphor on the area. Apparently, the skin does fine either dry or wet, but not dry and wet off and on. I was trying to keep the drool off her and would wipe her face throughout the day; this was making it worse. Using Aquaphor kept the moisture even through out the day and the irritation cleared.

Hope this helps.
K.

J.,
Our Pedi always recommends Aquaphor - just like Kellies does. Another soothing thing for shin is baths in baking soda. Use about 1/2 a cup in a baby tub or 1 cup in a big tub and let baby soak.
For the rash on his stomach- is it along a line where he comes in contact with a zipper or snaps? It is common for infants w/ sensative skin to have a slight reaction to the metals. The "cure" for this is no metal against the skin.
Winter is tough on baby skin- very dry but if we over moisturize they can break out too!
Please e-mail w/ any questions

Aveno Oatmeal bath is great for rashes, but also I would recommend going to Whole Foods and asking an herbal spacialist what they recommend as well for irritated skin. Perhaps a spcial cream or powder would help to protect the irritated areas.
