L.P.
We just bought a sleep number bed on Friday after talkin to several people that have had them for a long time. I will tell you they have a sale through today.
My husband and I are in need of a new mattress. Does anyone have recommendations on either the Sleep Number or Tempurpedic mattresses? Thank you in advance!
**Thank you for your input thus far; to those who have the Sleep number bed, do you worry about mold getting into the air bladders?? My concern with the Tempurpedic mattress is the potential to become too warm and the sagging of it over time...

We've had a Sleep Number for 8 years now and like the previous person said, it feels the same as it did the first day we got it. The nice thing is that since the pressure is determined by air no matter what changes you are going through(i.e. pregnancy, stressful day, day of manual labor) it is always adjustable to what you are feeling. Plus the mattress never really wears out. It'll never sag because it's air. You can make it as firm or as soft as you want at any point. Most of the time I do not make adjustments to mine, but on tough days where my back aches and I feel worn out I like the ability to make it cozier. And during this pregnancy I've actually found that it has been nice to make it firmer. I feel like I have support everywhere I need it.
Absolutely LOVE my sleep number and will not have any other bed. Have had it 3 years. No problems at all..
We've had a Tempurpedic mattress for almost 10 years now and still LOVE it!! My husband sleeps "hot" and we were concerned that he might be miserable, but with natural fiber sheets (no poly blends!!), we have no problems. In fact, we love it so much, that I eventually talked him into buying one for his parents' guest room (so we can sleep on it when we visit)! It makes the bed feel much wider (they have a full-size bed in the guest room), and our only complaint was that they bought some new cotton-poly blend sheets for the bed and with the poly-filled comforter, it's too hot for either of us. I'm taking cotton sheets with me for our next visit!! ;)
We've had a sleep number bed for 12 years and it feels like it did the day we got it. No problems, no issues, feels great.
We love our tempurpedic! We were trying to decide between the two several years ago. We went to stay at a Radisson hotel because they have sleep number beds. Once there, we realized that our sleep number was the same. Seemed a little silly to buy a bed that you can adjust on each side if we wanted the same thing!
We have a tempurpedic and it kills our backs! It is impossible to get a good nights rest unless you sleep flat on your back, but if you can it is awesome like floating on air as they advertise. It also retains heat, so you can imagine how miserable it is in the summer. Don't know much about the Sleep number but we feel tortured by our tempurpedic.
