Sleep Question - Denver,CO

Hi moms. My little guy (16 mo) sleeps with a crib tent on his crib at our home. However, when we travel or stay somewhere else he doesn't have the crib tent on and this results in him throwing all of this "sleep things" out of the crib. Which then causes him to wake up early from his naps and in the morning. He will throw his binki and his special blanket out. Any ideas on how to keep him from doing this? We are going to be traveling for more then a week, and I want him to get good rest.

What can I do next?

You didn't say when you're traveling, but if you have some time, you might take the tent off, and let him adjust at home. We always went with once it was thrown out of the crib, it was gone. If the kids wanted it badly enough, they didn't throw it. It does take a few times of crying, and you can't give in, but it's easier now than when they get older. You can get rid of the binki the same way, if you don't want to have to keep track of it any longer. My daughter was 15 months when we took hers away. I think it took 3 nights to get back to normal sleep, but only the first night was what I would describe as bad. I hope you have a great trip!

I agree with Kimberly. Hopefully you are not leaving any time soon. Do as she said while at home rather than away. This way once he has subsided knowing that its gone, then you yourself will be stress free knowing that everything has went well at home once the first few nights' have been put in. Be ready for a not well rested night for the first night and possibly the second, however by the third night he should settle, and mom will be settled and not a nervous wreck prior to going on your trip. Good Luck and have a good trip with no concerns' or worries.

I don't know about the blanket, but maybe you could get one of those clip on things for the binki and attach it to the crib sheet.
