Small Drinking Cup to Send in Lunch Box

Hey Mommas (and the occasional dad (: ),
Have you all ever seen a small (6 oz or less) drinking cup with a leakproof lid? This is for my Kindergartener so I don't want a sippy cup. It needs to be sealed so I can send it in his lunch without it spilling. Thanks!
Cyndi

know what i did? i got a few of those .94 mini water bottles from walmart. you know, the ones that look like water coolers, with the sport lid? i fill them about 1/4 full with water, keep the lids loose, and freeze them, then in the morning when i make lunches, fill it with water and it serves as ice pack + drink. works GREAT. haven't had any leakage issues yet.

No I haven't.
Have you considered a small bottle of water or a juice box?

We use juice boxes not bags.

Yes you can get them where they sell the Tupperware stuff at target or Walmart, I bought my kids some small bottles with a pop up spout, to send milk or water since they don't like juice. I hand wash them so they last longer and won't start leaking.

I love the Contigo autoseal water bottle. Don't know if it comes as small as 6 oz. though.

The lunch boxes that come with a "Thermos" brand cup (bottle) with the regular water bottle spout that clicks up and down is the only thing I've used that is small and doesn't leak. If it comes with the lunch box, it should fit right in there and ours has elastic that holds it in so it doesn't roll around.

We have used Sigg water bottles for a few years now. They are metal, but have some kind of epoxy inside so if you pack juice, milk, etc, it won't have a metallic taste at all. Pottery Barn Kids carries Kleen Kanteen water bottles, and I've seen kids with those, too. Either way, they have a cap that screws on and doesn't leak. Dishwasher safe.

For a sealed container, I'd look for a small sports bottle or funtainer. My DD has both and they work well. I found one set at WalMart and got the funtainer at Target. I also frequently send her in with milk boxes.

If you buy juice bags, ask if the school recycles them. Some do.

If you buy tiny water bottles, make sure you can get the lid off. I tried to reuse some once for DD and found the stupid lid was sealed on!

I bought a 6 pack of 10oz juicy juice bottles that I wash and reuse for my 8 and 10 yr olds. Never had a leak. My dd doesn't drink that much juice so I just don't fill hers all the way full. The mini water bottle idea is great too - I think they are even smaller???

You can buy the "take and toss" cups in the sippy cup isle and also buy the "take and toss" small bowl (about the size of a jello cup) that comes with a solid lid because they are the same size and you can interchange them. You may find you even have some laying around the house!

I suggest buying a water bottle. I've seen small ones made by I think Rubbermaid.

They sell plastic BPA-free water bottles at Walmart for $2. They sell them in small sizes and you can roll them up when you're done.

My daughter has a bigger one and she thinks it's so cool! Her's has a design on it. It doesn't leak, she always stuffs it in her gym bag.

How about re-using a plastic water bottle.

You can fill them w/apple juice, punch etc .

We re-use our water bottles all the time.
You can even buy those teeny, tiny water bottles.

I bought my husband a small Rubbermaid 8 oz drink bottle that has a straw and a flip up "straw" lid. (They are clear on the bottom with a green lid.)

I must warn you though that he claims that they leak. He uses them to take milk into work for his oatmeal. He puts the container into a Ziploc to ensure it doesn't leak all over his briefcase. I suggested he try using the straw with it, but he says that they still leak. Not sure why that is...
