I also use Bloomingdale west. Even though we live off of Big Bend I find it is the most fun for the kids and resonably priced at $30
I am looking to get my son in "rec" soccer, something to burn off some of that never ending energy and show him team work. I checked out www.brandonsoccer.com, spring registration is closed. Does anyone know of another program that may still be open or other ideas?
Additionally, I am looking for swimming lessons but most everything I am finding is during work hours. We do not have a pool but my brother in law does and he lives close. Possibly private lessons at his house during the week in the evenings but I was really looking to help my son with socialization skills while learning to get him comfortable in the water and possibly meet other moms like me.
Lastly what is a reasonable price to be paying for these kinds of activities? I know we are just at the beginning of soccer, baseball, gymnastics, brownies, etc. but I'm not sure what's a good deal but also a good program.

The Bloomngdale West rec center has soccer and tball during the summer. It's 6-8 weeks I think and costs $20 which includes the uniform.
Check out your local YMCA - they usually have great programs at a reasonable price.
We were going to do BAYSL soccer but never did. We have friends who's kids are involved but $150 for a 6 year old is crazy! We also played soccer, football, cheerleading, hockey, etc. at Bloomingdale West Recreation Center. It used to be $20 but now it's $30. Your child gets a shirt/shorts and trophy. Their address is: 3940 Canoga Park Drive, Brandon and their phone is###-###-####.
As for swimming lessons, this is where I took my 6 year old when she was 3. http://www.swimkidsusa.com/ I need to sign my 3 year old up this year. I know there are a lot of good programs and people that will come to your house. If your involved in a mom's club you might want to ask around.
My kid's have also gone to Tiny Tots. It's a FREE (school) program by the parks and recreation centers.
Good luck!
