My husband has a small sofa in his office and our yellow lab has made it into her bed!! :) Her white hair is everywhere and I have now laid a blanket over it but can't get the white hair off. It's kind of a tweed material. Does anyone know how or what I can use that will remove the white hair. I've tried my vacuum of course, dog hair tape rollers, hair removal sponges...nothing seems to work!! I appreciate any help!! Thanks!!!
Go to the website flylady.net, and look for the Rubba Scrubba. I have two long haired cats and a dog, and it gets tons of hair out that everything else leaves behind - from sofa, from clothes, even from carpet. It's also got lots of other uses.
They have several other products as well. I have a few of them and every one has worked at least as good as advertised, if not better. Really fast shipping, too.
I just had to pull this up and see what kind of responses you received. Labrador + Furniture = Disaster! They can't help it, but those dogs shed like crazy!!! I have to take mine to the vet later today and I am dreading putting her in the car. I'll have to take the car to have it detailed to get all of the hair out. Maybe that is something you can try... ask a specialist like a carpet/upholstry cleaner or auto detailer. You've tried everything I know to try already. We also have the Dyson animal and it works well, but I almost always find residual hair. BTW, I once saw a family at the car wash with their 2 labradors and they were using the industrial vacuum's on the dogs themselves. Funniest thing I have ever seen because I could SO relate. Hope that gives you a laugh picturing it! :)
Get a pet-hair removal foam from the carpet cleaning section. Your facing 2 problems: 1) the hair tangled in the tweed & 2) STATIC. The foam releases the static & you can get a lot more out w/ the vacuum. We have the same problem, but also have a Dyson Animal, so one of its attachments pulls ALL the fur off of our tweed couch.
are you able to take the cooshions off? we took ours off and washed them. Our couch is also a tweed like material. The waffle texture makes it very hard to remove the hair. But washing and drying them in the dryer helped remove most dog hair into the dryer lint collector.
If you cannot remove the hair that way try duct tape rolled inside out over your hand and change frequently. It is a very time consuming job. The lint brushes wont work so well on the textured material. The only other thing that helps is using the vaccume hose with out the attachment so you get straight on suction. but we have short haired dogs.
Try using a household rubber glove. It wks for us.
Is it washable? I would wash it and hopefully that will get rid of a lot of the fur.
Have you tried duct tape? It works for silky cat hair in my tweedy couch.
try using a brush. also wetting a sponge is supposed to help as well. try vacuuming it at a different angle to get into the crossfibers of the tweed.
