Hi, I am looking to get my little guy (he'll be 3 in april) into a more social and learning environment. He's been at home with me and is very independent and is very curious (aren't they all?) I would like to offer him more educational stimulus than just being at home with me- although I do educational activities etc with him..
Anyone have any experience with the Circle K ranch pre-school on Interbay?? I'm not sure if it's the right name. Or any other recommded places in south tampa would be appreciated, I am curious about Montessori as well- any in South Tampa?
Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi,

I went throught the same thing. What I discovered was that most schools require 5 day a week program with the option of pick up at noon or later. JCC and Shaarai Zedek both have very flexible programs, 2 day/ 3 day, 3hr+. I wanted to start with a 2 day a week program, I choose Shaarai Zedek for Julia my 2yr old(now 3), and very please with her experience and relationships with teachers.
I have heard about the ranch program and thought it sounded great. Parent I met in park was very happy with it.
Mothers rave about "Small Blessings", Methodist S. Tampa.
Montessori in Hyde Park requires a commitment to 6th grade with few thousand deposit. Mothers there love it. There are other Montessori or Montessory like programs which I here are very good.
Christ the King gets rave reviews.

Those are the ones I am remembering. I have not heard of any one which you would want to avaid.

Hope this helps

~M.

I don't know much about that particular school, but my daughter goes to Bayshore Baptist and LOVES it. You should look into their program. it's really quite competitive and full of activities.

You didn't mention the age of your young guy. I am new to Tampa, Fl, and was looking for Montessori schools and I rememberber visiting one that I liked alot called Community Montessori. The director was very nice (can't recall her name) but it was way to far for me so I had to put my son in Montessori school of Temple Terrace. I would have preffered Community Montessori if it was closer. The real young ones there are only a half day. My son was only one at the time and there were very few that took them that young. I believe Community Montessori starts at 18 months. I will go online and look (ok I found the paperwork) The school starts at 18 months and is located at 4930 Webb Rd., Tampa, FL, 33615. The phone number is ###-###-####. Remember I am new here so if this is not considered South Tampa I'm sorry. Nancy Bowman is the lady I spoke of. Great person. They allowed me to sit in on the young class and also the next class up this summer when I moved here and I loved the nature of the teacher in the young classroom. Check it out and see what you think. There was another school not far from there that seemed to be good, however they did not have a big summer program and so I didn't get to view the class. I can't recall the name of it. If I find it I will contact you again. FOUND IT! It is The Montessori HOuse Day School with two campuses; 5117 Ehrlich rd., Tampa, FL, 33624 ###-###-#### and the Hanley Campus on 7010 Hanley Rd., Tampa, FL, 33634, ###-###-####. I can't remember which one is the school I went to but you will probably guess from the address, it was not far from the first one I mentioned. Good luck!

I just started my son at the JCC in s. tampa - it is located off of baby to bay and bayshore. He has been there for 2 weeks now, and we both are loving it. His teachers are wonderful, the security is great and price is reasonable. They accept children of all races, creed & color! very nice!
