Another post got me thinking about the things that ARE going well. Do you have a story to share about how well your holiday season is going?

Here is mine:

Today I went to the post office expecting a line and a wait. I went in and the place was empty. I figured I was late getting my packages mailed and wasn't worried about them getting there by Christmas. I didn't have my items boxed and had three destinations for them. The guy (Roger) behind the counter asked me if he could help. He personally helped me package and tape all my gifts!!!! He GAVE me the boxes he had behind the counter and said that they might even arrive by Saturday!!! I couldn't thank him enough.

What can I do next?

Well, here's some holiday cheer.

My 7 year old daughter had a holiday assembly and I took her little brother and sat in the bleachers and listened to "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" to name a few. After it was over, we headed to her classroom to walk her home, as the students were being dismissed early. In the chaos getting to her room, finding her coat, grabbing her backpack, my daughter forgot her lunchbox. Let me tell you, there was a little bit of 7 year old drama going on here when she realized that the lunchbox would sit a good twelve days ... all alone ... in a dark and deserted school. I emailed her wonderful teacher to ask if there was any way the school would be partially staffed in the next few days and that we could come pick it up any time.

Not only did her fabulous teacher find my daughter's lunchbox out of all the others that had been left, she BROUGHT IT TO OUR HOUSE ... THAT VERY NIGHT ... ON HER OWN TIME ... AND FILLED IT WITH NOTES AND SCHOOL-TYPE TOYS! And I'm tearing up writing this too.

We are so, so lucky to have such a wonderful teacher.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

So many little things

DH got a new job that he actually seems to LOVE. Not early enough to shop, but he'll have a real pay check before the bills are due.

My 1 year old has no interest in our tree, or the decorations. As all you mommy's know keeping a toddler out of such things can be a chore, and I'm blessed that I don't have that struggle

We not only survived but have enjoyed Thanksgiving, followed by DS's first birthday just days later, and DD's 9th birthday just last weekend and have managed to decorate for Christmas, get the shopping done, and start making goodies (I will be in the kitchen till Sunday though, lol)

And maybe most importantly, number 5 seems to be the key for me to have a good pregnancy. I'm still keeping up with it all at almost 8 months pregnant.

My friend had been told to plan her funeral by one oncologist and that the only way to treat her brain mets was whole brain radiation. She went to my oncologist and today all her brain mets were removed with a gammaknife!

I drove under the freeway/bridge today to find what I thought was a deal going on. A Mercedes was pulled over with the trunk open and the man was giving one of the vagrants a pair of shoes.

Truly Touched!
