K.B.
Well im pregnant with twins boy and girl and having my first son! We bought a new house a couple of months ago, and a knew truck a couple of weeks ago. There's this amazing job offer im thinking of taking.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Deep breaths.
'Kay. So as many of you know I am starting school in less than a month (!!!!!). I just saw our book list and it's INCREDIBLE!!! I am in an interdisciplinary program that will enable me to learn about anatomy and physiology, statistics, and human biology along side (!!!) the history of medicine, sociobiology, and a sociological analysis of current medical practices. The material I am going to get to learn about is pee-my-pants exciting.
Woot!
Is there anything that you ARE SO EXCITED about?! Enthusiastically looking forward to? Silver lining? BOOM! Life!
PS I had an interview today for this volunteer position that I've been drooling over for years now and they are going to take me to the facility. So long as the clients are into me, I'm in! So pumped.

Woot!!
I have two foster kids. One is 14 months, one is 4 weeks.
I am super, SUPER excited because my 14 mo son's birth parents relinquished their parental rights this week, allowing us to move to the adoption phase!! I sooo cannot wait! He is my heart!
I am also extremely happy, because on the flip side, my four week old foster daughter's mommy is really making great strides in getting custody of her daughter back! I see how much this woman loves her baby at every visit, and am really happy that I can give her daughter a loving home until she is ready to get her back. Sometimes people just make bad choices and need some time to get back on track. I am excited that she is doing what she needs to do!
For me it's school too. Loved statistics, biology was so fascinating that if I had it all to do over again I would go into science. Pee-your-pants exciting, indeed. :)
Yay for you! School is SO exciting, especially when your book list is incredible!
Well, I'm excited because at my daughters' ballet studio, they are starting Ballet Boot Camp for moms. The professional company dancers will be leading it (so, professional ballerinas will be kicking my butt on a daily basis). Seeing as how these ladies look like, well, ballerinas, I'm pretty excited to whip myself into that kind of shape, too! Plus, I love dance and haven't taken a class in nearly 15 years (BUT I kept my ballet shoes, and they still fit!). Very, very excited. :) I am slightly less excited about putting on a leotard and tights, but they told me I can wear yoga pants for now. YAY!
Sounds great!
The boys and I are leaving for family camp this morning for five days. It is in Ontario on an island. There will be a water trampoline, beach, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, high ropes course, zip lining, rock climbing, sports, crafts, movies etc. Parents spend the morning with the kids doing activities, then the afternoons the kids go with staff and the parents relax. Evenings are group activities, then free time. I am so excited. This will be my real holiday this summer. All I have to bring are our clothes and sleeping bags. I don't have to cook or clean. We get our own cabin. Anyway, I better get ready to go!
Yours does sound exciting. What's the program you're enrolling in? I have to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm almost 40 and will pursue an advanced degree sometime if I can figure out what I want to do with it. Your program sounds really interesting!
Anyway...my recent excitement is that a few years ago, when my oldest was in "Secondary Elementary" school (grades 3-5, he's starting HS now) I was part of a pilot program called the Walking School Bus which was part of an initiative called Safe Routes to School. I was the last leg of a chain of parents who would walk a group of kids to school at least once a week. There were other components as well and this is something I carried on when my younger kids started school 3 years ago. Anyway...that initial phase got us entered into a grant program a few years ago and we were awarded $350K to improve pedestrian traffic around the school campus (which contains 5 schools as well as the police and fire stations spread over 3 blocks). There is now a HUGE path being paved from my street to the school that my 3rd grader is going to. This means that we can head to the next block of my street, turn right about halfway down and walk along this beautiful, paved path that cuts through a marsh and some athletic fields and get directly to the 3-5 school and later, the middle school. Before this, the sidewalk would end and we would have to cross the street, meander through the high school parking lot, then cross back over to enter into the 3-5 school campus. Or go completely around the block through two other schools, or cut across the athletic fields, which are off-limits and often muddy. This cuts our walk in half and makes it much safer for kids to walk themselves to and from school instead of crossing a street literally right where the police and fire vehicles are coming and going. I did the walks because they were a good idea and were fun - that this program is paying off in terms of a huge school improvement is awesome. I beam with joy every time I drive by "our" new path. It's silly I know but sometimes you have to take joy in the little victories.
Ah, Ephie, I have no Woot moment in my life right now - staring down a hurricane on the anniversary of Katrina takes the Woot right outa' me.
But I scream a huge WOOT to the skies for you!!!!
You deserve every woot like brings your way.
WOOT! WOOT!
One for you and one for me!
I am in the middle of construction of my kids party and playcenter! I get super excited every time I walk in and see the progress and then I am mega happy choosing the play equipment and the furniture, especially he furniture for my mini office!
To top it off, I am hoping and praying to have my first birthday party at my own place on Sept 22nd and it is my girl's 4th birthday!
I am also very stressed!!! LOL
Congratulations on your journey! With this enthusiasm you will sure be very successful!
hooray! I am soooo happy for you!
hmmm, my wootwoot: my sis & I are closing on my Dad's estate in a few weeks. It will bring a close to the end of our time together at our family lake house. After 44 years in the home, we feel Peace with this closure. When Dad passed away 3 years ago, giving up the lake house felt like the end of the world for us. But dealing with Evil Stepmom has changed all of that. Her lies began the month after Dad died....& have continued. To know the end of our life with her (& paying 2/3 of the yearly expenses, with zero use of the home)...is ending....brings Peace & Happiness to our family. & our family is more important than any lake house. :)
Again, I am soooo happy for you!
Oh Ephie, you DO have wonderful news! This volunteer position that you've been drooling over and now you are IN sounds like it's just perfect for you!
I'm so happy for you. Sometimes our younger kids going off to college just don't know how lucky they are. When we end up having to wait for it, sometimes the "getting" is so much sweeter!
Hugs!
Dawn
I'm so happy for you! Yeah, you go girl!
Me, I'm just glad to have the life I have and to continue to care for my grandchildren and all that that means and to continue to help people.
Woot! That's awesome! I'm excited to be ttc! This is month #2. I'm hopeful it will happen this month!
