Star Wars Costume Help!

Each year our whole family dresses up. I am pretty handy with a glue gun and make our costumes. This year my son wants to be Boba Fett...there is absolutely no deterring him or changing his mind. His sister will be 3 by Halloween and as far as she is concerned Star Wars IS Princess Leia. So what should Daddy and I be? I tossed out the idea of Jango Fett and Padme, but hubby didn't seem stoked about that one. And he has a Han Solo costume already, but he acts like he wants something a little different. He has only mentioned a Empire Strikes Back theme though and hasn't been much help. Any ideas???? :)

What can I do next?

Chewy and Padme? Obi-Wan and Padme? You could be the green slave girl from Jabba's place, or the one that's a Jedi now. Or just generic Jedis. Or you could be a different version of Leia from your daughter. Or 3PO and R2.

I'll ditto seeing you and hubby as generic jedis. Or maybe just as stormtoopers.

I had a thought last year of doing me up as Darth Vader, hubby as one of the red imperial guards and our three kids as stormtroopers (and maybe the dog too!). But there's no guard costumes and one would have to be homemade. So given that, plus the fact that I'm working this year - we're holding off on the idea until another year. But I could see the idea usable for your needs.

Chewie would be hilarious, but would probably be costly to make from scratch or buy already made.

A sandperson would be easy. Just get alot of gauze and wrap his head and hands, and have him wear a burlap robe tied at the waist. Jawas would be easy too...very similar to sandpeople.

He could be the Taun taun that gets split open. There is actually a sleeping bag for sale that you can look at and get ideas how to recreate this as a costume. Go to www.thinkgeek.com Type in taun taun sleeping bag. It's a hoot.

I agree with your original suggestion...he should be Jango...since they are a dad and son team anyway. I just short of buying a helmet somewhere, I'm not sure how you'd make that at home. Maybe paper mache?
