I am a stay at home mom in Allen and was part of a playgroup a while back but they disbanded so now I am looking for moms to connect with. We are part of a large church in Plano, so we have tried to get plugged into a Lifegroup there, but most of the people in the lifegroup have no kids or much older kids (my daughter is 3 and we have a baby on the way). I am hoping that I can find some Moms around the area that I can not only set up playdates with but also build up friendships without the kids involved. I would LOVE to be able to have a girls night out at the movies or a restaurant! Let me know if this sounds like something you are needing/wanting too!

I am apart of the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) that meets at First Baptist Allen. We meet during the school year, so our last meeting is this Friday. They have started sign-ups for next fall. I'm in a small group with 8 women and one is a Mentor Mom whose kids are already grown. We do a monthly girl's night that have included pedicures, dinner out, and meeting for ice cream. Sometimes we involve the kids.

Check out Cafe Mom and do a search with your zip code. I found a great group in my part of Collin - I don't have young kids like your's but for me the group is fun group of women.
Try going to http://www.meetup.com There are lots of moms playgroups on there. There is also MOPS - Mothers of preschoolers that has a presence in Collin County - google it I'm sure they have a website and I think there it a Collin County Preschool PTA - again I would google :) Also check out http://www.aroundtownkids.com for fun things to do in the area.
