6 Year Old Allowance

My daughter is almost 6 years old. She has no concept of money. She thinks that it is ALWAYS available to her. I want to start giving her an allowance, so she can buy her own afternoon snacks at school and whatever toys she thinks she must have. My question is how much of allowance do you give to a 6 year old? What are the task she must do, in order to earn the money? What about deductions, when she doesn't do anything? Child's Artwork--preservation Options

My 6 year old finished kindergarten and has a whole box full of artwork. She is a fairly talented artist (unlike me!) and I would like to "preserve" some of her artwork, while keeping in mind that I personally have some pack-rat tendencies. Ideas to Get My 6 Year Old to Eat

My 6 year old has a very limited diet. My new years resolution is that he will eat what my husband and I eat at dinner. My only idea is to say if you don't eat dinner you don't eat. My 7 year old daughter doesn't like to do her reading homework and my 5 year old is starting to pick up on it. I know I am not that big of a reader, but I keep magazines around and try to read in front of them sometimes. I have tried letting them pick their own books to reading the book to them first. Starting a Book Club for Kids

hi! i am interested in starting a book club for kids ages 3-8. i was wondering if anyone had some good advice on how to start one, where a good place to meet for the monthly activity could be, and what great books you have read with your kids. my goal is to have a monthly meeting for the kids to get together and talk about the book or act it out, or come dressed as their favorite character, etc. then the moms could put together a snack that was in keeping with the theme of the story. you get the idea. any thoughts? thanks!
