Most stuff like that I try to ignore. Everything in commercials looks so much more fun than in real life. My daughter though they looked great, too. I said, "they are having fun in the commercial, but all they do is the eyes bug out, that's it... do you think you'd be as giggling happy as those kids in the commercial just because you did that? How many times would you do that before you were tired of it?" (she is a little older, lol, I think she was 10 1/2 or 11 at the time)...

We saw some at the end of the season last year in a store, and she picked them up and looked at them and started laughing... at herself for having thought they were so cool. She had never seen them in person, just on TV.

I vote that most of the stuff that shows the kids having GINORMOUS amounts of fun with something simple is not worth it. Those slide things? A piece of cardboard will suffice for the amount of time it takes them to either get hurt or get bored with it.

Now... a pillow pet. Those aren't advertised as "fun" they are a snuggly emotion thing. And they are worth it if you have a kid that is attached to stuffed animals and such.

All 3 of mine have a pair. As others said the novelty wore off very quickly. We got ours at CVS I have seen them at Target and Walmart too. Not worth the effort of hunting them down!

If you can find them at Wal Mart or Target then I say go for it.

I would not spend money or time hunting them down...did it last year..not worth it.

They are a novelty that wears off quickly.

My girls were given them for Christmas last year and the excitement wore off after about two minutes. It's fairly hard to get the ears (or whatever part) to flap up so my kids literally had to stomp around it make them work. By December 28th, they were in the back of the closet and have remained there ever since.

PAIN IN THE BUTT> I have to dog ear slippers and the kids like them all of 5 minutes, then the ears flopping around bug them and they are now in the closet. Anyway you can buy then online, just google and there are a bunch of sites.

Get him his favorite tv show on dvd - all seasons of it if you can.
Why?
Because he can then watch his show whenever he wants (and here's the really good part) and there are no zip zero commercials for them to start up with the gimme-get-me-buy-me whine.
Skip the slippers.
They'll drive you nuts and the novelty wears off within hours - a few days tops.

Total waste of time and money! I bought a pair for my daughter last year for christmas and she loved them but you have to press down very hard for the slippers to work. Hence the name stompeez!
