DO any of you have any ideas on how to store my necklaces. I can fit the earrings in there. Thanks ladies, hope you all had a merry Christmas!!!

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies! I like the idea of a clear craft box or something for the drawer. The rolling pin idea is neat! Thanks again, I am going to walmart tomorrow and will look!

I tapped in finishing nails into the wall next to my vanity. I hang my necklaces on the nails.

My husband bought me (years ago) O. of those large, stands on the floor, jewelry cases. With drawers, an opening top and side compartments...the works.
I have to confess, I HATE it. Too hard to find stuff, etc.

O. day I was at Marshalls and they had these jewelry trays (different compartment sizes, overall size about 10 x 14) that fit PERFECTLY in the two shallow top drawers of my dresser. LOVE THEM! You can see everything at a glance and the compartments stop any tangling, etc. They are perfect for necklaces and are from $6.99-$9.99 ea., I believe.

My mother, who enjoyed making something out of "nothing," made a necklace holder for me years ago. She picked up an old wooden rolling pin at a thrift store, covered the rolling part with a remnant of fabric, and added a dozen cup hooks, in two rows, to the bottom part of it. She made a hanging chain with an old (but sturdy) neckace fastened around the handles of the rolling pin. It holds all my necklaces and is a decorative addition to my bedroom wall.

I have an old wooden sign my Grandfather made me years ago. I put a row of metal hooks along the bottom and hang all my necklaces from there.

For mother's day last year I asked for, and received, one of those hanging jewelry boxes. It has picture frame cutouts on the front and is about 2feet x 2feet and 3 inches deep It has lots of hooks for necklaces, tabs for earrings, places for rings, and a little bar for bracelets. I was never big on jewelry, but a few years ago I got several really nice sets and I needed a good place to store them. I'm still working on filling the picture frames, though...
Before that, I kept all of my necklaces in individual boxes on a small shelf in my closet--it worked because it kept things from getting tangled, but it was annoying, because I'd have to open all the boxes to find the one I was looking for! So, maybe small clear boxes--or like one of those craft-organizing things?

I have a mannequin covered in black velvety stuff. I hang my necklaces and bracelets all over it (and hats and scarves), and stick drop earrings in the fabric :) My rings stay in a box (just thrown in), and post earrings have their own box as well. I LOVE the mannequin because I can actually see each piece side by side, altogether!

Vicki:

There are several ways to store your necklaces...

1. buy a larger jewelry box - one that has a rotating arm for necklaces.
2. buy a jewelry pouch/bag - looks like a cosmetic bag but has holders at each end for necklaces and your can roll it up.

Merry Christmas to you!! Hope you have a wonderful 2012
