Hello,
I am looking for a new double stroller my son will be two in June and am pregnant with another boy which will be due in July. Have no clue which stroller to get. Side by side? Sit and stand? Tandem stroller? Anyone have any suggestions from experience? I would appreciate it.
Thank you!

Hi there. I have kids exactly 2 years apart like you will have. My daughter will be 4 in june and my son 2 in june.
I have the Graco Duoglider where they sit one in front of the other and it works great! You can use with a carseat for when the baby is small and then use the seat for when he is bigger. Good luck!

we bought a double stroller that converts to a sit and stand from www.onestepahead.com. For the most part, I really like it.

Hi T.,
We had the same dilemma and after tons of research and reading lots of product reviews, we bought the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. It's narrow enough to fit through any single door that's ADA compliant/wide enough for a wheelchair and weighs "only" 21lbs, while so many doubles are closer to 40lbs. Each seat is adjustable, both seats fully recline and it has huge canopies. On the down side, it's $400 and we still had to buy a rain/wind cover, "parent console" for cup holder and storage space for keys, pacifier, etc. While it has a good size basket, it's difficult to get in there when both kids are in the stroller - you have to access it from the side. It handles really well (I can steer it with one hand) and is super easy to fold and stays closed pretty well, but it doesn't have a latch to lock it or compress it for maximum space efficiency. My sons are 18mos apart. My older son will be 2 soon, and he LOVES this stroller. Both of them sleep well in it, too. Originally, I only wanted a tandem, but they're so long and as the kids get bigger, they look squished. BTW, we bought ours on Amazon and didn't have to pay tax or shipping! Hope this helps. Good luck.

I had a stroller where the baby laid down in the back and the toddler sat up front. It folded up easy and had storage underneth. I purchased extra cup holders at Babies R US. It was great! I had some friends who did the side by side. They are hard to get down isles, trunk trouble, and folding them down quickly can be a challenge. I would check consumer reports as well. I would ask moms in the mall or call a twin organization for more advice.

It really depends on your lifestyle. Do you take a walk everyday? Do you walk to the library, post office, grocery store, errands, etc.? If you do, you need something that is really easy to push, handles well, goes through snow, etc. If you only need a stroller for the mall or something like that that is only once in a while then go with cheap and convenient. I walk almost everyday and went with the BOB jogger. The easiest stroller to push with big tires for getting through snow and slush, etc. A wagon is a great alternative to a double if you only need one for the zoo, park, whatever. You can always carry the baby in a sling, carrier, etc and just use a single stroller too. My daughter was also 22 months when my son was born and she definitely still needed a stroller because she couldn't walk for long periods of time. Now at 3 she prefers to walk. I have a buggy board attached to my single stroller for her to stand on. The previous poster is right about side by sides being large getting through aisles and stuff but I find that tandem strollers are so hard push. I think sit and stands are great for a little older kids but I think a 2 year old is probably a little young for that.

My kids were those exact ages and born those exact months! We got a Baby Trend sit n stand Deluxe which has two seats, so the 2-year old doesn't have to sit on his own quite yet, but the back one is removable. It is a great, inexpensive stroller for trips to the store and the infant seat fits in the front. However, with that said, you get what you pay for- the handlebars are very narrow making it hard to steer it with so much weight (and front-heavy infant seat). For neighborhood walks, I ended up getting a double jogger on Craigslist (a Schwinn) which has worked out very well for us, especially since my kids are heavier and are now 20 months and 3 1/2. Best wishes in choosing!

Do the world a favor and do not get a side by side. Those things ruin days out for everyone involved. We have a Peg Perego tandem and the back rests further down which is great for the smaller baby. I would say if your 22 month old still takes naps then you might want to skip the standing stroller thing. That way if you are out long he can catch some z's too.

My kids are 23 months apart. We went with the Graco double stroller. My thoughts were - a side by side is wider and harder to fit in tight places and as far as a sit and stand goes, I wanted my two year old (she's now 4) to have a place to sleep if she wanted to take a nap. It is really easy to fit in the car and maneuver through tight places. It is just as easy to push around as our single Graco was. Have fun :)

I really like my Combi Twin Savy, side by side. It is light weight and folds down very compact. The graco bucket carseat that we have fits in it facing forward. It is not advertised to do this and doesn't snap, but it has worked fine for us.

I got this stroller with my second. My kids are space out 28 months between the first two, and 21 months between the second and third. My oldest is now 5 1/2 and still fits in it. In fact I've squeezed all three of them in at times.

If you do jogging of a lot of walking on bumpy terrain it may not be big enough wheels, but for our use it has been great.

Both my sister have his model. I got it for about 150 of ebay (I think it was new)

They also have one of the similiar models that officially hold the Combi bucket careseat. You have to buy an extra attachment. But we already had the Graco and it's been no problem.

My kids are 20 months apart and went through the same deal. I ended up w/ the Zooper double Tango and LOVE IT. It's a side by side that accommodates a infant carrier (something that I wanted that not many side by side strollers did) It is super easy to get around and will fit through a standard door way. I also got a used graco dual glider for grandmas and HATE it. I like to take long walks and think it is so much more difficult to "stere". I would take my Zooper any day!

We have a Phil and Ted double, it is sooo easy to push and maneuver. Plus you can convert it back to a single once your oldest doesn't want to ride in it anymore.

My boys are 18 months apart and I spent hours looking for the perfect double stroller. I ended up buying 2. The BOB which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! We also bought the Maclaren Twin Techno for around town and to throw in the trunk. I'm selling it because my boys are squished and it's hard to push. Now that my boys are older 1 and 2 1/2...I'm looking to buy the Joovey Caboose Ultralight. GOOD LUCK!!! Oh...once again... I LOVE my BOB!!!! You can buy an adapter for a car seat....it turns on a dime...it's worth every penny! Oh...BTW...I originally bought the Zooper Tango..we took it out the first day we were home from the hospital and it collapsed when we went over the first uneven sidwalk.

My kids are 26 months apart. When my youngest was first born, we had a tandem stroller by Kolcraft. It was red and each seat adjusted (could sit facing each other, both facing forward, both backwards, etc.) It also came with a universal car seat adapter. We really liked this stroller as it had a huge amount of storage and we used it on long outings. Unfortunately, the stroller was stollen (we left it outside our house while we gave the kids a bath one night). The drawback to that stroller was that it was a little heavy and unless you took both seats off, did not fit in the trunk.
We now have a Joovy sit and stand. Our oldest is now 3 and can walk most places. She just needs to hitch a ride every now and again. This one fits much better in the car and is much lighter to push. Not sure I could have gotten by on just the Joovy right at the beginning, but I think we would have outgrown the Kolcraft one in short time. I like the weight and size of the Joovy one much better. Hope this helps.
