This lady sent me a friend request on my business site and like what I have seen from the item thus far and will probably get one with my next one. Good luck.
I am looking for suggestions for a good quality, not too expensive, and easy to use cover up to use while breastfeeding. Or advice if anyone decided that a regular blanket was sufficient after using a cover up. I didn't breastfeed at all in public with my first kid but am guessing I will have to more with my second b/c I don't think I will be able to keep my sanity if I try to keep my toddler home all day everyday!
I found the Bebe au Lait (Hooter Hider) on Babycenter.com and purchased it there. It ws cheaper than their official website, there were just fewer pattern options offered. I haven't had a chance to use it but tried it on and it is comfortable. I think it will work great, thanks for the help everyone!

I breast fed all three of my kids. I found that using a tightly knit oversized shawl was great in addition to a nursing blouse. It stays in place and your baby can breathe! Good luck.
Go to www.modestmums.com they have a great selection of trendy cover ups. They're great because you can still see your baby and maintain your privacy. And they're made by a stay-at-home mom!
Most of our nursing in public (or NIP) is done with my daughter in a wrap or a Mei Tai. This allows me to keep on shopping or doing whatever it is that I am doing and her to nurse without everyone knowing about it (most people think she is asleep). I am not modest about it anymore, with her being 15 months old, she thinks everyone wants to see mommies booby, espically if I try to put something over her (blanket, cover, wash cloth, etc...) that just seems to add to the problem. I have nursed almost everywhere (including 3 local new stations news segments, that got aired) and you cannot see anything but the back of her head and her little hand playing with her nursing necklace. Good Luck!!!
Hi Angela,
Well, I understand what you are feeling...I was Miss Modest before kids. I did not mind breastfeeding in public, but did cover up...here are few things I did:
*wore nursing tank tops under my shirt. This helped to keep my belly covered as well. I would wear a button shirt over it...if you unbutton from the bottom...that with the nursing tank...there is like NO skin exposed. Most of the time I just wore a regular top over the tank---I really feel this was the best method for me.
*I bought a blanket, but honestly I hated using a blanket so I just quit using one.
*I nursed in my car a lot.
*If out in a store...nurse in a dressing room.
Good luck and kudos for breastfeeding.....

I also have the Hooter Hider and highly recommend getting one! I even packed it and used it at the hospital. I also ordered mine online, but I have since heard that Amrosia in downtown McKinney carries them. The patch on the cover can read, "Hooter Hider" or "Bebe au lait". The patterns are really cute too! I can definitely say that they are worth every penny. My son is now 5 months and starting to grab anything he can while nursing, and this cover stays in place! I know I am rambling, but I honesly can't say enough about these! One piece of advise...directions say they can be put in the dryer, but I recommend hanging it to dry!
GL to you!
A.,
I found a website just brousing last week sometime.
I need to find it again and will email it to you tomorrow it covers you while you breast feed.
Thanks,

I just invested in a couple of nursing blouses/tops. Those provided more than enough coverage and I nursed in public until my son was about 2 - when in that position, most folks just thought he was sleeping. It did also help when I wore a jacket shirt over the nursing top, as another mother suggested. The only comments I ever received nursing in public by the few folks that figured out that's what was going on were very positive - mostly from moms whose kids were older and likely were remembering their own positive breastfeeding experiences. And, I nursed everywhere - even on sightseeing tours on vacation, the back row in church, on a bench in the mall, etc. It is good to practice at home some in front of a mirror and then you can see what you might be potentially exposing.
I have a 'Hooter Hider' and love it. I am very modest, but it keeps me covered. I don't know where to get them locally. The website is bebeaulait.com. I think they are $35, but I think it is worth it. There is a piece of bendable plastic in the top so that you can look down at the baby. The fabrics are really cute too. My daughter can still see me and does not mind being covered this way. Let me know is you have any other questions!
I have a hooter hider and absolutely loved it. I am actually looking to sell it so if you are interested send me an email and I will send you a pic. I only used it for a couple of months as it was my second child and became much less modest so it is in great shape. Just let me know.
