Does anyone know of a swim instructor in the Highland Village area that will come to the house to give lessons to an 18 month old? Would also be interested in lessons at a venue in Highland Village if they were in the evenings.

What can I do next?

Yes I do! I know a wonderful young lady named Katherine Christian. She lives in Flower Mound. She teaches privately. I don't know if she does children that little but you could ask her, and if she can't she may know someone who does! ____@____.com is her e-mail, and she's also on facebook. If you e-mail her please tell her I gave you her info so she doesn't think I'm crazy. i'll send her a message letting her know someone named A. may be contacting her. Thanks!

A.,
We are in Highland Village and use Aqua Kids in Flower Mound for our two kids. Our daughter started lessons when she was 8 months old and our son when he was 2 years old. In all we've been using them for about 4 years and really like the instructors and the programs itself. They are west of 2499 and 1171 - a bit pass the Sonic.

You might want to look into AguaKids it is on Main Street in Flower Mound. I have used them when my daughter was 3 and I think that they had mommy and me classes for the younger ages.

We are also interested in this. Our 22 month old is very brave and will go under water, jump in with no assistance, etc. but doesn't have swimming skills. We tried the Lewisville YMCA and he didn't get much from it. They taught how to get in and out of the pool and played games that teach them to spit out water, etc. He was already beyond these things. We contacted someone who teaches private lessons but they wouldn't teach under 4 years old (says they don't retain what they learn, etc). If you find someone who does we would also be interested in private lessons.
Good luck.

Have you looked into WinKids? It's at Waketon and 2499. They offer swimming there however, I don't know if any are at night. The website is www.winkids.net.
