The Cobb Aquatics Center is very affordable. http://prca.cobbcountyga.gov/aquatic.htm
I wanted to start my 7 month old on some swimming lessons. Does ANYONE know of a place that's inexpensive?
Thank you guyss soooo much for the information! I have found so much information on this website! Now some people are telling me that if I start my daughter too soon with swimming that she might get earaches! So now I'm confused in what to do!!!

Try Mountain View Aquatic Center. They do have swimming lessons for infants/toddlers. They do allow parents to participate for the infants. The teachers are certified lifeguards and they are great teachers. I have had my son taken several swimming lessons from Mountain View Aquatic Center.
The Smyrna Community Center's schedule for Spring and Summer is now out. You should check that out. Another option is in Marietta, the Atlanta Swim Academy. They're located on the corner of Johnson Ferry and Lower Roswell. It's $35 registration and $13 per class. I think that's a great price. The pools are indoors and the facilities are clean! My daughter just started taking lessons there a few weeks ago and we've been extremely pleased so far. I believe their website is www.atlantaswimacademy.com
Hi Anita,
Smyrna offers swim lessons at Tolleson Pool during the summer. They have lessons for a range of ages, including infants and toddlers. I believe the lessons are about 30 minutes each morning for a week. They are very inexpensive - around $25 or $30 last year. I would call the community center about schedules since the pool is not yet open. Google Smyrna, Ga., and you'll find the city's website fairly quickly.
Another good resource is lifeguards at your area pools, such as Tolleson. Many lifeguards and county swim teach coaches offer private swim lessons at negotiable rates. You could give any of the public Cobb County pools a call and inquire - the closes one to the Smyrna/Marietta area is located next to the Cobb Civic Center.
Good luck!

Sarah School of fish is really great, I am not sure if they go that young, but would think they would. www.ssfish.net
I'd strongly recommend checking out Infant Swimming Resource www.infantswim.com They have the only program I found to teach my children true water skills. Both my children started at 6 months. Months before they could even crawl, they had completed their I. series and could roll over and float COMPLETELY unassisted. From my research all infant/toddler swim other programs are a waste of time and money from a water safety and skill acquisition standpoint.
As to earaches from starting too early, I disagree but the I. program is very vigilant about tracking any health issues your daughter might be experiencing and adjusting accordingly.
