At what age does Tee Ball begin? My soon to be 4 year old daughter would love to play, but all I am coming up with in JOCO is must be going to kindergarten in the fall to play. I assume she has to wait another year?

What can I do next?

L.,
My daughter went to pre K and she ws 4. They offered T-ball to the 4 year olds. She will love it. I don't know who enjoyed it more, my daughter or myself. Those little kids were so fun to watch!

I'm not sure where JOCO is but here in Springfield, we have the YMCA they have a few sports that allow 4 yr olds. My son started soccer and basketball at 4 but he had to wait until 5 for T-ball which starts in April but signup closes sometime this month. The best thing to do is check your local YMCA.

I was also looking for sports for my son and noticed that they all start at age 4. Any younger than that it is just soccer camps and things like that.

For the organized t-ball I think you do have to be five...

Could you do this one?
Baseball Camp: Introduction To Sports - T-Ball (Age 4 with Parent/Guardian)
Sponsored by - Smoothie King

The other place to check with might be the YMCA-- I think they offer a number of programs for the little ones...but i don't know about t-ball.

Hey. I'm don't know where you live but if it's near Glenpool or Sapulpa area Then the New Hope Baseball League would be worth checking into. Both of my sons played T-Ball through them. I have seen kids as young as three play. They are just starting their season too. I can't remember the number, the guy that runs the league (Tommy) is based out of Morris Park on hwy 117 (which is south 117) and just east of hwy 75. Hope this is some help. Good luck you and your daughter will have a blast playing t-ball!!

I'm new to Kansas, but when I lived in California my daughter participated in the YMCA's biddy tee-ball program. The child just needed to be three years old at the time of sign-ups. They required that a parent go out in the field with their child to give direction since, for most, it was their first experience playing an organized sport. It was really cute seeing all the little ones running around. I know that not all YMCA's offer the same programs, but you can check. They also had biddy basketball and biddy soccer.

Good Luck!

Hi L.-
The 3 & 2 baseball league has t-ball for 4 year olds. My older son played it, and I've signed my soon to be 4 year old son up as well. They have to be 4 by June 1, 2007 in order to play. Here is a link to their website with all the info you need!! It's a great league and the kids have so much fun playing!! Hope this works for you!

I would check into local sport complexes. I know here in Lawrence when Sport 2 Sport was open they offered T-ball for 4 year olds, but the city leagues were only starting at 5. I am sure they are out there it is just a matter of finding them. If you can't find them, why not make up a team with a few of her friends? Teach them the bases, throwing, and little things...I think they would have fun.

Hi L.,

Johnson County Parks and Rec actually has an introduction to T-ball that starts in the summer for 4 year olds. I'm going to try to insert the link direct to it. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Hey L.!! I think she does have to wait one more year. I know exactly what you are going through. My son had to do that last year, and boy did it break his heart. So what we did is we went and watched some games, and practiced with him. Now he knows how to hit left and right handed and he has one heck of an arm on him too. Just keep her encourgaed and everything will be okay. Have a wonderful day.

My daughter started t-ball at 4. She played in Moore. You might contact MGSA (Moore Girls Softball Assoc.) I think they have a website. Try okmgsa.com or Del City ball park has t-ball kids playing at even 3 years old if you want. I think at that age they can even play co-ed. Hope the info. helps. It's so fun to watch them when they are that little.

As far as I know, state requires they already be 4-5 years old to start the summer leagues.
