The ONLY thing that helped my daughter's pain when she was teething was ibuprofen (Motrin - but get the generic since Motrin was recently recalled). I did teething tablets, Orajel, mesh teethers, Tylenol, you name it. Only the ibuprofen helped. Check with your pedi on the dosage. Also, watch out on the Orajel. If you don't get it directly on the gums, they swallow it and it can interfere with their swallowing (numbs the throat). I didn't want to "drug" my baby either, but it was the only thing that worked. When I told our pedi, he said he hears that quite frequently from moms.
