My nephew cut his first tooth at 3 months. It's possible.
Put a damp washcloth in the freezer, and let him chew on that. :)
So my almost 4 month old baby has been stuffing his mouth with his fist like every min he's awake. And he drools excessively. Most people comment on how much he drools. I was wondering do you babies start teething this early? I'm a first time mom so I'm not sure. But he makes himself spit up formula cause he shoves his fist down his throat. Just looking for some advice on this cause I don't know how to get him to stop choking himself on his fist. He'll even spit his pacie out to eat his fist
Just in need of answers thank you.

I'll bet he is beginning to teethe. You can tell by feeling his gums. Usually the first teeth erupt on the bottom in the front.
Does he have a 4 month baby well visit coming up? If he does, ask the doctor and tell him or her about the fist stuffing.
Meanwhile, get him some teething rings and put them in the refrigerator to get them cold. When he puts his fist in his mouth, give him the teethers instead. The paci isn't helpful - he is trying to massage his gums. That's what the teethers are for.
Sounds like teething, and no, it's not too early.
You can try a standard teether. Some other ideas - some babies like to chew on cool damp washclothes. Keep one in the fridge and see if he likes it. Or you can get one of the mesh baby food holders and put some popcicle in it.
My third surprised us with her first tooth at 4 months old. My other 2 waited until they were closer to 6 months before they got that first tooth. It came as a bit of a surprise but it is totally normal.
I would get a couple nice teething toys for him to chew on to give his fist a break.
4 months sounds right. I don't think he will choke on his fist, but a teether would be good for him. Don't buy those mesh baskets on a stick you put yogurt to fruit in and freeze. Those are a real pain and don't work. Buy sophie the giraffe or something else that is long like that and keep it in the fridge. Also wetting a baby washcloth and freezing works too.
If he is fussier than normal or can't sleep, don't forget to give him some Advil (if DR says ok). Teething hurts! Good luck!
It's early, yes, but my child got his first tooth at 4 months. My MIL and her friends all said it wasn't possible, that it was a piece of food on his gums! ("No, Ma, he doesn't eat food yet!"). FYI it was a long time until he got the 2nd, 3rd, 4th teeth - just that one was very early in our case. Doctor said it happens often.
Give him any of a number of teething rings with texture on them. You'll find plenty of them in the infant section of stores. You can also use a wet washcloth that you put in the freezer - the nubby texture helps those gums. The pacifier doesn't help the gums so look at the different teething products and choose 2 or 3 that are different so you can alternate them and put them in the freezer as indicated. But none of those will go in so far that they stimulate the gag reflex which is what is making him spit up. Teething can cause all that extra drool which can also screw up the tummy and the digestive system (you may see changes in his poop) but I think the fist going in is part of the problem!
My youngest started at 4 mos.
The pediatrician said it was too early.
However, so I tried some things some moms
on here suggested: Hyland's teething tablets (they dissolve on their
tongues), infant Tylenol (didn't use Infant Motrin until approx 8 mos-1yr
for Molars coming in).
Also, rubbed Baby Orajel on gums.
If you give him the teething tablets & Infant Orajel, they work but they are temporary & wear off.
Double check that you can give infant Tylenol at this age.
My daughter started teething at 4 months and got her first tooth a few days after she turn 5 months. I used orajel and I placed teething rings in the fridge and let them get cold. That was soothing to her. Good luck!!!
