Hello All my son is 14 weeks and he is in the beginning phase of teething. It is not to the point where he needs oral gel but I would like to get him a teething ring to help sooth him. I need your suggestions on the best teething ring water or gel? frozen or chilled? Also are there any particular brands that you all would recommend?

What can I do next?

Hello L.. My youngest LOVED a frozen wash cloth; cheap and easy. We would wet it down, pop it in the freezer for a min or so and she loved it. Also, you could just run it under cold water, ring it out, and let him go to town.
I never gave any of my children Oraljel for teething. Some Dentist claim that it relieves the pain by numbing the gums which makes it much harder for thier teeth to pop out. So it relieves the pain for a few days and then stretches the pain out for twice as long. Best of Luck.

I would reccomend a chilling soother that is not frozen. my children also ended up teething on beef steak or jerky. they also teethed on my husbands leather wallet. anything that allows them to just chew without harming them helps alot. hope this helps you. S.

My only suggestion is not frozen, use a chilled one. I think the frozen is too hard for their little gums and eventually teeth. its also almost too much for them to hold as cold as it is. I dont have any opinion on water or gel as the gel is (or should be) non toxic just in case they break it and ingest it.

Hi L.,
My son is 8 months now and when he first started teething we got him the "vibrating star". I am not sure of the brand, but Baby's First comes to mind. My mother bought it for us and I think she got it from Baby's R Us. Anyway, he absolutely loved it. He liked it so much that it even helped him with his hand coordination because he always wanted to have it in his mouth. I would definetely recommend this product. I think it sells for about $10. Good luck!

PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE lol
When he is about 4 months old, give him "Hylands Teething Tablets"
They are THE BEST. I'm telling you, they're a life saver. My son was the WORST when it came to him teething, but my friend reffered me to teething tablets and he was an angel lol.
