Teething???

I definitely think it he is teething. Keep in mind, that conjestion can make his gums ache even more than they already are so between the two, he is probably pretty miserable....

yes, he is probibly teething. you can go to walmart and look in the vitamin section for a bottle of herbal teething pills. they won't hurt him and they HELP!! or you can try getting a washrag wet and putting it in the freezer then let him chew on it. or buy some teething rings. my kids didn't like the teething rings they preferred washrags or lighters or pocketknives. when my granddaughter was teething we did the teething tablets. they are a godsend!!!!

well i do know what your going through , but this will only go on for a short time. yes your baby is teething but with a littel theething gell for babys will help you.He is going through a lot of pain but with the gell he will be ok.

My daighter was the same way - There is a product called Hylands Teething tablets, they are all natural and worked wonderfully with my daughter. We managed to get through all her baby teeth with little irritation. She did great. I am not big on using medications unless I absolutely have too. I wanted and still want my daughter to be able to build an immunity to common things and to fight her colds on her own, instead of living on medications her whole life. Hwever, I was completely comfortable giving her hylands. My daughter is there now, outgrowing her Asthma and her allergies are controllable and completely seasonable. We work with them using Cingulair tablets at night and Claritin tablets in the morning. She does wonderfully, but we skip weekends because I dont want her to build a tolerance.

I think it's probably a combination. Sounds like teething is causing some pain, but it's not directly related to fever and snotty noses the way our parents and grandparents once believed. There are some herbal teething tablets that you can pick up in the pharmacy - they gave my two some intense relief, or there's always baby orajel.

Fever is a good thing that lets your body fight infection - if you get rid of the pain and get your happy baby back, don't fight the fever until it tops 101 or he gets cranky or listless. Then, of course, a weight appropriate dose of tylenol or ibuprofen every four hours should knock it out.

With regards to the snotty nose, I'd let it run unless it hampers breathing, turns bloody green or brown, or is accompanied by a higher (101.5 +) fever - in which case I'd call the doctor for some antihistamine / decongestant, and or antibiotics. If he gets a rash from wiping, follow wiping with some Eucerine or Vaseline on the skin around his nose and mouth.

Most definitely teething. We just went through this with my granddaughter and the really difficult thing was that she cut 6 teeth at one time...There are some really neat things over the counter. One of them is a teething tablet. They are great. I don't remember the name but they really do help them sleep. Then they now have oragel on a q-tip type and you just break it open and rub it on his gums. Because of our difficulty with so many, we used these together and oh, what a relief it was. Motrin or your preference for fever...Good luck.

that sounds just like teething to me. I know how hard that can be! My son just cut some molars. (those are the worst!) I would get some of those natural teething tablets and give them to him throughout the day. Don't worry about the fever unless it gets really high. It should go away soon. He will be cranky for a few days and then maybe the teeth will either go back down or they will go ahead and cut through. He may not want to eat as much either, so make sure he's getting plenty of fluids. Well, i hope this goes away soon. Good luck and hang in there. it will pass soon!

My daughter was about 6 months old when she first started cutting teeth. She is now 10 months old and has 4 teeth in. She had the semi-high fever, the runny nose and lots of wet diapers. So what I used on her was the Infants Concentrated Tylenol Drops, these all natural teething tablets and some all natural oral stuff. I can't remember the name right now but when I do I will let you know. Just a heads up too, my daughter is VERY whiny so its normal if your lil angel is too. My son is 6 months and we are going throughthe same thing. i believe it may be the teething for he has no cold. ny 10 year old did the same thing but just on the first few teeth. hope that is our sons will be about it! Good luck and let me know. If you live in San Antonio we could get them together and let them screech to each other sometimes it helps to be with someone that is going through what you are. LOL!

Sounds like you have a teething baby on your hands! Try baby Motrin it lasts longer & is better that Tylenol.

Yes, he is teething. He will be miserable for a while. When my other two children began teething, I used infant tylenol at night to help with the pain, and baby oragel during the day. It helped alot. Also, cold was good. Cold wash cloths and cold water teething rings helped. The fever and cold (runny nose) can also be caused by the teething and inflammation. When he is having a really bad time of it, try a bath, and let him suck on a wash cloth. Give him things he can gum and chew on.
This too shall pass. (Wait till the molars come in...whew! Call in the reinforcements.)
