My 11 month old got her first 2 teeth back in June. then absolutely no more teeth. NOW there are like 6 teeth coming in at one time! POOR GIRL! Lastnight was the first night that she has ever been upset like she was. All she wanted to do was lay on me or my husband and whine/cry. We gave her tylenol and a little bit of oral gel and she went from sleeping through the night to waking up almost every hour! she isn't eating much or taking the bottle.. is there anything I can do for her???

I'm so sorry that she's having such a hard time. You can try using a gum brush. This seemed to help my daughter a lot. Good luck!

Try the following:

Hyland Teething Tablets - you can get them almost anywhere in the baby section.

Valerian Super Calm - by Herbs and Kids - you can get at Henry's or Mother's. It's an herbal nerve support.

Let her chew on a frozen plain bagel or a partially frozen wet washrag.

Hope this helps!

Ok, get ready because this is going to seem crazy but both of my boys loved this. I don't know if it helps them feel better or just takes their minds off the pain (maybe a little of both). . . but whatever works is my theory. Go to the store and buy one of the kids electric toothbrushes, the smaller the better obviously. You will need to supervise; however, turn it on and let her play with it as she gets used to it try showing her to put it in her mouth. My sons used this for hours at a time when they were teething. They would drool so much that their clothes would need to be changed but it did seem to help. I also used the Hyland's brand teething gel and the Hylands teething tablets. The tablets seemed to work better at night time to kind of relax them back to sleep. Hope this helps!! Good luck

I also purchased an electric tooth brush for my daughter when she was teething. It worked wonders on her mood! If yours doesn't like it then try ice on her gums before the oral gel. I also recommend that you try out some different types of gumming toys, my daughter loved one that looked like a tooth brush yet had a soft plastic tip with grooves (purchased at WalMart for under $10 came with some other teething stuff). Teething is hard for most babies and people try all kinds of methods to ease it along. My parents use to have me teethe on cold carrots (not baby carrots but full sized).

The teething tablets are great. I like them much better than Orajel. If Tylenol's not working, maybe Ibufrofen will.
Also, remember that this will not last too long & at least she's getting a lot of them over with at one time. I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my 3rd & I try to sneak in naps whenever I can. You'd be surprised what kind of noise you can sleep through if you're tired enough!

I gave my daughter tylenol along with the Hyland's Teething Tablets and that seemed to help. Advil or Motrin usually works even better and since your daughter has six at the same time, maybe give her some ibuprofen instead? And maybe try to give her one of those frozen teethers? This also will soon pass and she will go back to sleeping through the night before you know it! Good luck and congrats on your second.

You could try ibuprofen/motrin for the pain. The tylenol might be the cause for her not sleeping. My children sometimes gets hyper when I give them tylenol. And you can also use teething tablets that are in the baby at your local store. A last suggestion is to
wet a baby cloth and freeze it, then let your daughter chew on it, it should numb her gums and make her feel better. I hope one of these work for you.

Have you tried the Hyland's Teething Tablets? You can get them at any drug store or Walmart. They work great. Since she has so many coming in at once, cold objects will probably be a welcome treat as well. Since it's been hot outside and my 11-month-old is also teething, I have been cutting up sugar free Popsicles for him. He loves them. You can also get the teething toys that go in the freezer for awhile, then the baby chews on them.
I know the nights when you get interrupted sleep are very difficult, especially when you're pregnant. The best thing to do is to try to take a nap when your baby does, so you get caught up on your sleep. During this "teething time" we just have to "grin and bare it." It's just a stage and "this too shall pass."
I wouldn't use an electronic tooth brush on baby gums. Those are for older kids that actually have their teeth in. They can cause the gums to recede if they are used too often in one area.

I used Hylands Teething Tablets with my children. They're homeopathic little pills that dissolve under their tongue. They work WONDERS!
As far as the oragel, I don't recommend using it at all. It toughens the gum up and makes the tooth trying to break through that much more painful for your little one.
Good luck....and congratulations on another baby girl coming!

Try putting a wet washcloth in the freezer and let it get good and cold and let her suck on it. I heard it from a friend and it helped a little with my daughter. Other than that, I can't think of anything other than what you are doing. It's hard watching them go thru that. Poor baby. I hope she feels better soon.

Poor baby! My daughter used to love it when I would soak a wash cloth in water and put it in the freezer for a bit so it was nice and cold, she would chew and chew and the cloth did not hurt her gums. I also used to give her gripe water. She always seemed to get tummy problems when she teethed and the gripe water worked fantastically. Teething biscuits are always good and I have never seen a kid turn down a Popsicle. Good luck.

Poor thing, I mean you! You just have to let the teeth break through. Some people use celery for the little one to chew on. I guess its cause of the ridges.
He will take the bottle back and the eating back, no worries!
Just be careful about her laying on you and your hubby. It is so comforting that she may not ever want to give that up! Just do it during the day time hours. And try not to let her fall asleep on you.
I went through this with my first child. I knew better with the second. He is 6 and well adjusted. :)
I am proud of you for asking for advise. Alot of parents would just let it get to them then no one gets any rest.
Take care!

Just keep doing what you're doing. We gave our daughter Tylenol every 4-6 hours when it got really bad (which lasted almost a week). She had about the same number of teeth coming in at the same time, and that included a couple of molars. She was one cranky baby... She also seemed to eat a lot more while she was teething, I think it soothed her gums. Try giving her cold items to eat, like watermelon or fruit. It can be a distraction for her, even if just for a minute. My friend told me she used to give her son frozen waffles to bite on, but my daughter was never intersted in that. Don't worry, it will be over soon...

I am going through the same problem. My son is almost 10 months old. I found these little teething tablets that work wonders. The are made by a company called Hylands and they come in a pink and white box. You just put them in their mouth and the tablets dissovle. They are all natural so you don't have to worry about them hurting the baby in any way. I found if you give the pills and the tylenol it is a great combo. You can find the pills in any drug store. Good luck!!!

Hi
Old cure is green onions, wash them and cut it down to kid size and let them chomp on them. I used these for all of my kids and it works great. something to do with the onions settleing their stomachs maybe? either way it works, good luck.
