I have been looking into this as well. There are ladies on here who can do an info call with you. It only takes about 20 minutes. I did one last night. I guess joining is only $1 this month! They do not sell but they do sign people up to belong to a co-op type program that you get commission off of others who sign up under you.
Hope this helps.

Hi J.! I'm a proud member of the MOM team and all the negative things you're hearing, aren't true. All those people on ripoff.com, etc. got frustrated b/c they wanted easy money. Just like one other lady said, "You get out of Melaleuca what you put into it." It's a business, therefore you treat it like one. The company, products, and our team are AMAZING! I'm new but I love it already. I'm able to be home with my daughter, which is most important! I love it and would recommend it to anyone!!

If you decided to do this business, you have to think that is a job just like any other, you have to work hard. The big diffence is that all the hard work you put in it it will be your success and nobody else. Is thru about buying products every month but who doesn't buy products every month. The bis plus about this product is that are safer for us and the earth. I do have a website which shows you what really have the products every body thinks are safer for their family.

Hi J.,

I am a member of the MOM Team and what these guys are saying is not true. we are stay at home marketing executives for a company called Melaleuca. it is a very stable company. there is really no down side. you get out of the mom team what you put into it and as far as the purchases you make, you will use them if you use them. does that make sense. i always need more when it is time to order again. they are safer products for your home and family. you will see an improvement after a short period of time. i can't speak for all, but i am loving the business. the support is awsome. they help you every step of the way, and i make a promise to help you every step of the way. the call only takes about 30 min. what would you be losing to listen and make your own educated decision?

I don't know about the MOM Team, but I'm with another group that supports Melaleuca. The products are wonderful. I've suffered with allergies for years and find relief with the household cleaners. Don't feel like I have to wear a gas mask anymore. I also love the vitamins and weight management products. I can tell a difference when I forget to take the vitamins. If you're wanting to make extra money at home, this is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a BUSINESS, and if you're willing to put in the time and effort like you would to go to a job, then you'll be successful. Melaleuca offers consumable products and if you're using them, you should have to replace them frequently. I haven't used anything BUT Melaleuca products for the past 5 years and I wouldn't switch to grocery store brands again for anything. I love sharing the opportunity with others, loving helping people find solutions to their problems through Melaleuca, and love having team support as well as providing team support to my own team. Whether you go with the MOM Team or someone else, at least try the products. There's no extra money involved - and this month you can enroll for just $1.00 and still get $100 worth of products free over the next 5 months. Where else can you get a deal like that? If you love the products, as I do, it will be easy to refer the company to others.

J., I too have an infant and have been searching for a way to make money from home....I put the frown after the "working mom" also...not bc i don't like my job, but because I wish i could spend some more time with my daughter. I have come across the MOM Team under so many different names so many times. I cant make any decisions for you obviously, but i can just recommend that you do a lot of research before you jump in. I like someone else had mentioned, have found the MOM Team on ripoff.com....

I am pretty new to this site & really had no idea what the MOM team was either until I read your post. Out of curiosity I opened up the respones. I do not want to tell you what to do either, BUT, if this has anything to do with Melaleuca....PLEASE do your homework B/4 "signing on the dotted line"!! I joined Melalueca June of 2006 & finally got out las month (Feb 2008). The only reason I stayed in so long was because I kept hoping for what was promised. Like others have stated, you have to make a monthly purchase (which will run you minimum $65 & up). Once you get a certain amount of people under you, you have to order more "points" which ran well over $100.00/month. I was gung-ho about it & had 10 people under me in two months time. By Dec (4 months later) I was down to 6 again. It is CONSTANT work. A pyramid also. When I finally got out last month, I had 1 person that I had enrolled myself & some more under me from other people. I was "making money" off of a total of 5 people. My income ran about $13.00/month, meanwhile I was spending over $60.00. The products are relatively decent but they can get expensive & they last FOREVER it seems & since you constantly have to make monthly purchases that is really not a good thing!! Right now I have 6 huge bottles of lotion, 12 tubes of toothpaste, 15 bars of soap & believe me, I could go on!!

Just please, if you are interested at all in this, do your research!! The people trying to pull you in NEED to pull you in to keep their numbers. Trust me, I was once in their shoes (sorry all you current Melaleuca members!)!

Hi Jenn,

The Mom team is a work from home opportunity. I used to be a part of it to see if I could supliment my income, but it was alot more work than I had time for. The company they support is really awesome - they have over 300 consumable products that are environmentally friendly, toxin free. From laundry/cleaning supplies to dietary supliments and cosmetics. The only down side to it was that I had to also buy a min. a month, which was hard because i was putting out more money than I took in. It's a great group of ladies - but in order to make it work, I think you really have to be willing to dedicate alot more time to it than I had.

Good luck

Hi J.,

I do not know anything about the MOM Team, but have wondered when I have seen their ads. It's all so vague.

However, I do work from home with an incredible company called Ignite. We market electricity for a start up energy company. So basically, I save money by telling my friends and family how to save money on their electric bills each month.

Check out my website at http://landreth.igniteinc.biz and you can view a video on the opportunity. If you would like to learn more, ask questions, or get involved, please email me.

Best of luck!

Hey J.,
The MOM team is involved with selling Melaleuca products.

I looked at a lot of companies and a lot product lines (including Melaleuca) before I chose a company to build my business with

If you are interested in starting your own home based business so you can stay at home with your baby, I would suggest you consider the following for whatever line/company your choose:

Start up costs
Are there any mimimum monthly purchases you must make
Are there any quotas
How much time to you have to devote to the business
Are you or the business flexible to suit your lifestyle
How long has the company been in business
What are the total sales over last 5 years (are they growing)
Are they a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA)
Are the products comsumable (important if you want re-orders)
How does this company support it's reps/consultants?
What type of company training is available to you
Are the levels too lofty to reach?
Research the product ingredients - esp in the welness/beauty area.
Does the company totally disclose their product's ingredients and tell you exactily what they are? (If not, RUN!!!)
Be sure you try the products and know that you will use them yourself before comitting to the business. (You can sell what you don't believe in.)
Most importantly - be REALLY picky and look at a lot of companies and product lines before you decide on a company.

Best of Luck

S.

I considered the same opportunity with the Stayin' Home and Lovin' It team. I didn't like the products. I also didn't think I could use enough stuff to order what I had to order each month to meet my membership commitments.

We buy cleaners and personal care products that are sold at Whole Foods. The same brands are available at HEB but with less selection. I found their products (Melaleuca) to be better than the average stuff from the supermarket, but not nearly as "green" and healthy as what I already buy. I'm sure the people selling this would debate this issue, but I'm not alone if finding this about their products. Some ingredients are impossible to find out or are still sythetic chemicals. They're just sythetic chemicals that haven't been "proven" YET to cause cancer or other major diseases.

It just depends on what type of products you're interested in. This might be the right thing for you, but it definintely wasn't for me. The advice to try things first is good. The person who signed me up gave a lot of pressure to start selling the day after I ordered my products. Good luck finding the right opportunity. I'm still looking too. : )

You've got tons of info by now! Basically, I just wanted to add that there are many legitimate opportunities out there for you to earn money from home. The only catch is you really have to WORK - lol. Doesn't seem like much of a catch really, but people seem shocked by the reality of it. I am a work at home mom with a different company - I LOVE what I do and I am bringing in full time income doing it now after 1.5 years...and that amount is residual and growing. It is not an overnight thing - when you decide to start a home based business it is like starting any other business. It will take work and time! The rewards are huge if you can commit though! I have never once regretting starting my biz.

Like all these other moms I am happy to share my opportunity with you. I help people save money on health and dental benefits (who doesn't need help there?) You can check out my website at www.AMuchBetterPlan.info - of course if you are interested in speaking with me just fill out the form.

Best of luck in your quest to work from home! Just find something you can be passionate about and jump in with your whole heart and soul!

Do your research. I was thinking about talking to them and then saw several things on ripoff.com about how they pay you and how you actually earn money by recruiting others. All you need to do is goggle (The M.O.M Team) and you will find info.
It just seems that if this was such a great business there wouldn't be so much negative stuff about them on the internet.
Good luck!

J.,
I did something identical to The MOM Team while I was pregnant with my son. I wanted to see if it would work before I had him. It was a No Go for me.

I did IMoms. These are companies that are focused on women, stay at home moms or working moms who would like to make some extra cash and maybe one day be an at home mom.

The best way to some it all up is A LOT MORE WORK than what one might believe. These companies represent Melaluca. The products rock. I won't deny that. You become a customer of theres and you have a minimum amount of products you have to purchase each month to stay active and get the discount. Then you spend as much time as you can calling people and trying to get other people to sign up underneath you. You then gain a percentage of the amount of money they spend on products. YOU ARE NOT SELLING PRODUCTS, you are trying to create new members and convert your home over to all melaluca products so you can purchase the minimum amount each month.

The shipping was high. And I strongly disliked calling upon people and trying to sell this opportunity. Not my thing. Especially once I got to know all of the downsides of it I had a hard time trying to convince anyone to do it.

Even once you get people signed up underneath you - they fight the same struggles with the downsides you do and you have to spend your time coaching them and trying to convince them to stay at it.

I wouldn't recommend it. I've considered becoming a member strictly for the products because I have excema and the products are excellent for that, but I don't want to sell the opportunity or worry about building a team below me.

I started with the Mom Team in August of 2006. Then I was offered the opportunity to stay with my Mentors and be part of a new team or stay with the MOM team. With the MOM team, the website was difficult to maneuver and I didn't like the overview call much. The website of the new team has so much more information, and didn't cost for redirection, I naturally joined. I spoke to another woman about joining and working from home but she wasn't sure she wanted to be part of our team. She searched key words and found The MOM Team/CEO Network. She thought it'd be easier/better marketing. She enrolled last February. I still occastionally keep in contact with her and know that now she is no longer a part of it - and is doing Pampered Chef. She said she got no support and could never get any help because most of her team was in Canada. My support team is tons of help. The group is legit. The company they've partnered with is Fantastic! I have never regretted my decision to join, however, my support team is mostly local. And they (having enough experience and enouch encouragement) broke from the MOM Team. I'm glad I joined with them! Anything you see on www.ripoffreport.com is just people complaining b/c they wanted to get rich quick. The man who runs ripoffreport has a criminal record for fraud. I wouldn't listen to that. Trust legitimate sites (BBB, etc). I can e-mail you more information from credible sources. There are people who want to believe everything they read. My sister-in-law send me a rip-off-report link - out of concern. I told her that I found information about the moon landing being fake on the internet too.

I love my company. I love my job. There's no way I could bring home any extra income otherwise. I've got 5 kids - and they don't go to school/daycare. I'm still bringing in a couple hundred a month.... and that's because I haven't worked since last June! The residual income is fantastic.

I was with a group that sold the same products as the MOM Team called Stayin' Home and Lovin' It. I ended up spending more then I was making. You are required to purchase a certain amount every month. The products are pretty good. But I couldn't use them up as fast as I was having to purchase them. It's been four years and I still have stuff. Just be sure to do your research before committing to this program. There have been people that made a lot of money. But it does take a lot of work and commitment.

if you decide to join, make sure you know all the hidden costs. you have to spend so much per month and it got out of hand when i was with them. i like some of their products, but their lotions have parabens in them which are cancer causing. you also have to be a good sales person. i'm great at recommending things to people and getting them to use products, but i have a hard time doing that when i'm selling/making a profit on them. good luck.
