We are thinking about going to South Padre Island this summer. Our sons are 9, 6, and 5. Can anyone tell me what kind of activities there are to do for our kids (besides go to the beach)? Thanks!
Family things! picnic, swim at hotel, bbq in the park, etc. Easy answer.
No suggestions, sorry, but my SIL and BIL go for a month every year. He kite surfs. They don't have kids, but I'm sure you and yours will have a fantastic time. Enjoy! Horses on the beach sounds like a dream vacation to me. :)
We went to Corpus Christi last summer with our twins who were almost 5 and an almost one year old. We loved it. We visited the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington. It was awesome. There is a ton of other stuff there, too, but we only had two days. We had considered Padre but went with CC instead ebcause of the activities.
South Padre Island near Corpus has an aquarium which is nice, if you are going to SPI near Port Isabel, they have a lighthouse and a Schliterbaun (sp?) water park that is small but fun. And either way, the beaches are fantastic and the kiddos will have tons of fun just playing with the sand and "riding" the waves! Have fun!
We've not been in years but we went several times a few years ago.
Our daughter loved the Horses on the beach. We did it 2 days in a row and she still wanted more and she went alone the next 2 days. It was very nice!!
The horses on the beach is our best memory of South Padre!
