I've had one forever. My 2nd Black & Decker finally bit the dust after at least 15 years (the first one lasted 12-15 I thing), and I just ordered an Oster 6-slice large size toaster oven which will be delivered shortly (I chose based on Amazon reviews, as suggested by Mamapedia members).
I use it ALL the time. Toaster ovens have 3 features - underneath heating (classic oven), top only heating (classic broiling), and top/bottom combined (toasting). I like it because slices of bread never get stuck as in a standard toaster, and there is much more versatility.
This time I got a larger oven so that I can put more in it at one time. I love to cook, but we often reheat leftovers, and it's so much more efficient than heating the main oven. I don't know why people would think making toast is a hassle in an oven - you just put the bread or bagels on the grid, set it for "toast" and wait for both sides to heat evenly at the same time. You can do all thicknesses of bread, bagel slices, etc. I also freeze my bread and defrost a couple of slices here and there for a sandwich, so a toaster oven gives me much more control of the timing. Besides, being able to look in the glass door shows me much more than a standard toaster.
If you want to message me in 3-4 days, I'll let you know how the new one is working out. I chose it because it takes a 9x13 pan and a 9 inch pizza.
