So What Happened?

So, what happened? Well, I got a lot of responses and it is good to know that most of the moms on here are getting their babies off to a healthy start.

My 15 mo old loves whole milk for breakfast and then eats scrambled eggs with cheese (sometimes I do a spinach & cheese omlet), avacados, and some type of fruit. He loves strawberries, blueberries, apples, pears, mangos, etc. He grazes on Cheerios and raisins until naptime. He truely has a hollow leg and never gets full!

My daughter loves pancakes. I always make a large batch and freeze the leftovers. I place wax paper between each one to keep them from sticking together. You can pull one out and pop it in the microwave. I often smash up a banana and mix it in the pancake batter, it provides extra nutrition and gives it a yummy flavor.

Wow, reading your "about me" section was like reading about myself... except I cry easily, can't speak Italian and can't sing! My daughter eats eggies ""ayees" for breakfast almost everyday with fresh avocado slices or fresh tomato and ketchup for fun mostly.

Your "a little about me " puts mine to shame, but I loved it. I lived in Italy for three years and also LOVE Florence. I never minded getting lost there. My Italian stinks now.

Anyway, my kids eat fresh fruit, yogurt, protein smoothies and cheerios. We're going to try eggs again with my one year old, they didn't fly last time. I'm not big on unhealty meals and breakfast has not been the most creative.

Take Care, J.

One thing all my kids like is cheese toast...toast the bread in the toaster oven for a bit, then put the cheese on top to melt it. Another one is cinnamon bread, toasted. A yogurt and some fruit, and you're good to go.

BTW, the "a little about me" cracked me up, girl. My husband rocks, too. 3 babies is enough for me. Our bed is queen sized because I like to snuggle. There is no such thing as too many books. I have no known allergies, but just thinking of roach poop makes me break out in hives.

Too funny...J.

Hi again.
During the week they eat cookie crisp cereal in a ziploc and milk in a sippy cup in the car on the way to the learning center.

On the weekend we go all out. I cook eggs, saussage, bacon, toast, waffles, pancakes. And sometimes they opt for cereal and milk. My daughters are 3-1/2 and 15 months.

It varies ... but my son (almost 3) usually eats fruit (banana typically, or an apple) and drinks milk. Sometimes I'll make blueberry muffins, and he loves those, too. And, if we're getting something or making something bigger, he loves biscuits, pancakes, waffles (any carbs basically). And, he loves yogurt, too. Sometimes he'll eat a granola bar, too. My daughter is just over a year and she eats warm cereal (oatmeal or such) with fruit, and cheerios, too. She also drinks milk. Sometimes she'll have a banana for breakfast, as well.

Anything and everything! Breakfast is the favorite meal for my 2 year old. Eggs (any kind), bacon, toast, Cheerios with fresh blueberries, strawberries and/or bananas in it, biscuits, pancakes, waffles - you name it! If we are in a hurry (eat in the car), usually a Nutri-Grain bar (he thinks they are cookies). Sometimes we have breakfast for dinner, because he loves it so much.

My son is four and pretty picky, though we are working on adding new foods! Some of our favorite breakfast items are peanut butter toast, cheese toast (or even grilled cheese), cinnamon toast--all on wheat bread--fruit, Cheerios, scrambled eggs, muffins, grits, and pancakes. Some of my friends suggest fruit smoothies, French toast, waffles, oatmeal.

She eats cereal, such as rice crispy or rice chex, she loves toast, and fruit mix. She will eat bacon and pancakes or waffles if I cook, usually a weekend treat. She also likes biscuits. She likes Bananas when I have them, hard to keep them around here, and sometimes she will eat cheese toast.

My kids usually eat cereal (mini wheats, cheerios- all kinds, and.or kix) with a side of fruit when we have it, but on rare or special occasions I'll make them waffles or pancakes. On days when my oldest sons have ballgames, everyone gets peanut butter toast and fruit. My kids always drink a glass of milk other than game days when everyone gets juice. On cold mornings when we have time, I'll make them oatmeal. We eat a lot of eggs, but it's usually for lunch or dinner. I don't usually have time for eggs in the morning, but every once in a while we'll have them for breakfast.

Fruit, she loves bananas and oranges best but strawberries and peaches are also favorites. Sometimes she still has some rice cereal, or cheerios dry. She likes to feed herself so I am always looking for nutritious things she can handle and get into her mouth.

i read a lot of these responses and i have to say I want to trade my child for one of yours! my son has a very limited diet...he's the look at it and decide he doesn't like it type kid. I don't know why thought me and his dad eat EVERYTHING! He eats cookie crisp for breakfast, only because I won't let him eat it for every meal of the day! It actually has less sugar than cherrios apple cinnoman and fruity cheerios, thought.

My toddler is the last child woken up and the last child out the door in the morning. Some mornings I dress him in his crib and take him straight to the car.

Quick breakfast on the go:
Pre-cooked sausage--microwave, cut up in little bite size pieces, in a zip lock bag
Pre-cooked bacon--microwave, cut into little bite size pieces, in a zip lock bag
Mini blueberry muffins (one of the packages of 4 mini muffins)
Cinnamon Toast, cut in triangles and put in a zip lock bag
Bagel with strawberry cream cheese, cut into small pieces-easy on the cream cheese, in a zip lock bag
Apple slices in a zip lock bag
Banana
Blueberries in a zip lock bag
Dry cereal in a zip lock bag
Sippy cup of milk
Sippy cup of juice
Yogurt (When he wakes up early he gets yogurt-it is the reward for waking up early.)

Drive through McDonald's sausage biscuit--at last resort when there is nothing in the house to eat.
