I used diaper doublers for my son at that age. They are an extra pad you can insert in the diaper. The only place I could find them was my local Stop and Shop. Good luck!
My son (2 1/2 yrs old) is now soaking through his Huggies Overnight Diapers (which used to always work so well!) Trying to limit his liquid intake before bed but sometimes its hard. I tried doubling up the diaper - Huggies overnight first and then a Pull up on top bu the pull up didn't soak up anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for a SUPER absorbent diaper or a way to prevent the leakage? I am currently using a size 5. Maybe I should go up to a 6? Was also thinking of using a plastic diaper cover..
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for all the responses!! I went up to size 6 in the Overnights and it has seemed to improve. I also have limited the amount of liquid right before bedtime (which is helping!) Thanks again!!!

I'd go up a size and use Pampers overnights. My son is 16 months old, I've been using a size 5 for months b/c he soaked through all the time.....the pampers overnights have been great but I see that he is peeing more now and I'm just going to go up a size.
Hi J.
I always woke my children or at least got them up just before I headed to bed which was about 4 hours after they went to bed and brought them to the bathroom. They usually went and usually went right back to sleep. I think they slept better because they didn't have to go about an hour later. Then mine did not soak through as long as when they awoke I brought them right to the bathroom again.
Try it! It may work for you too.
Try sizing up or looking for something called diaper doublers. Usually sizing up works. Do not go the plastic cover route unless you get a cover made for cloth diapers. The plastic ones you get in wal-mart/target do not breathe and will not make for pleasant skin for baby and you will have a huge mess to deal with a puddle inside super hot plastic pants. The ones designed for cloth are made with a breathable material (PUL) and can be found at any on-line cloth diapering site.
And do not limit liquids. Babies and toddlers need to be fed and watered (lol) on demand.
I had this problem with my son, never my girls. Sometimes he would pee the bed, and his diaper wasn't even very wet. I believe it was a "boy" thing... even making sure to push his boy parts down didn't help much. I never did resolve the problem, but I've read that putting a maxi pad inside the top of the diaper helps. I would definitely try to go a size up for night diapers too. Good Luck.
Hi J.,
Another thing I suggest is to check his diaper before you go to bed. Some toddlers will pee in the first couple of hours after being put to bed, so if you go to bed 3 hours after him and his diaper is already wet, you need to do a quickie change in the crib. Disposables are not meant to hold multiple wettings.
I always found Pampers Ultra to work the best. Problem is I believe they only sell them at BJ's warehouse. I have the same problem with my son and nothing else works.
try the larger sized diaper. And talk about using the toilet
I am loving pampers extra protection diapers. I put my daughter to bed without restricting any liquids, and even put a sippy of water in bed with her...and she wakes up pretty much dry about 10 hours later!! I love them!
when my kids started soaking through diapers it was time to switch sizes or even brands, Pampers are taller , huggies are wider.
i had this same isuue when my daughter turned 2. For a wgile I would put on a regular diaper, then the Huggies Overnight on top of that. We also started limiting her nighttime bottle from 8 oz to 6 oz. It all worked. now at 2 1/2 she is just wearing Sz 6 nightime diapers to bed.
Good luck!
When my son was still in diapers at night, he went through a couple of periods where he soaked through at night. Both times I changes sizes and that seemed to work. So yeah, maybe try a 6 and see if it helps.
Pampers Cruisers with Ultra Absorbency are the best. I use them for my daughter. They sell them at BJ's or on amazon.com. You can also order online at bjs.com. They are more expensive than the other diapers, so what I do is I get two types - the cheaper ones for daytime, and the Ultra ones for night time only. If that doesn't work, you may want to consider getting up in the middle of the night (I know nobody wants to have to do that) and changing your boy's diaper then. It'll cost you a few minutes of sleep but at least the bed will be clean in the AM.
We've gone through that. Went up a size in the Huggies overnights and that helped.
I'm afraid sometimes it's a boy issue. If he's pointed up inside the diaper, then it will leak from the top.
Best solution for me has been changing him before I go to sleep.
