I'm not a fan of pull ups. With my daughter, I think she would sometimes be lazy to go to the potty, even though she knew she had to, bc she knew she could just pee in the pull up. I'd just bring extra clothes and underwear.
I can finally say that my 2 1/2 year old is potty trained. She does still have accidents occasionally though. When she is with me it doesn't happen as much of course because I take her to the potty even if she isn't asking for it. But I have to leave her with a friend once or twice a week and on Sundays she is in a nursery class. I have been putting her in pullups for these occasions but I'm wondering if she is still having some accidents because she knows that sometimes she has the pull ups and sometimes she doesn't. Should I just be bold and leave her in underweard for these times I'm away?
Thanks
Well, I didn't use a pull up today for her church nursery. I actually left the bag with extra clothes on the dinning table on accident. There were no problems. I just took her potty before dropping her off in her class and it is only 2 hours. I even put her down for her nap yesterday and today in underwear and she was fine. So the pull ups have been put away for now. I'll still use them at night for a bit longer but she usually wakes up dry anyway.
Thanks

You will have to check with the providers on how keen they are to change panties when needed, then be sure to provide extras whenever you leave her. Also, ask them if it is possible for someone to keep an eye out for the "pee pee dance" or whatever clues she may give without verbalizing or else ask them to just take her XXX number of times. I'm a big advocate for cold turkey panties, but your support system has to be OK with that.
hi. take her completely out of the pull ups and send many extra changes of clothes with her when you are not with her. children need to feel the wet pants in order to fully understand that they need to go to the bathroom not use their diaper. It is actually confusing for your child to be put in underwear sometimes and pullups other times. Just deal with the wet clothes. if she still has many accidents then she probably just isn't quite ready. She is very young still. godd luck! i am a mom of 4 little ones. We only have 1 left in diapers. it is challenging at times. hang in there!
Take the pull ups away and have lots of extra clothes available wherever you go.
Just go for it and have her in undies all of the time. They are smart and know when they have diapers on. Give the daycare extra instruction regarding her potty training so they can have her use the potty regularly in order to avoid accidents. There might be accidents, but that's part of the learning process! Bring an extra pair of pants/undies. :)Good luck.
I would put her either in cloth diapers or regular underwear with those plastic pants. That way she will be really uncomfortable if she wets herself. It worked for me! :)
Yes, you should leave her in the underwear instead of pull-ups. Pull-ups are permission to go potty in her pants. Just remind the nursery and your friend that she is potty training (the nursery deals with this age all the time), and they might forget to ask her once... but after the mess, they wont again. It seems harsh, but they need to take the issue seriously, or not work with the age group that they are with.
Good luck in Alabama, I hear it is beautiful and rich in culture.
Pull ups are overrated. I personally think pull ups are just an overexpensive diaper. There are thick crotched cotton underwear (training pants) that you can get but if your child is doing well then just put her in underwear full time. Occasional accidents are normal and part of the potty training process. She has to learn to remember that she is in underwear and does not have the choice of using the toilet versus her pull up. Good Luck.
You would prob have better luck w/o the pull-ups. My daughter who is 2 1/2 has been PT for almost a year (we got lucky). However, she still wears a diaper/pull-up to bed and to this day when she lays in her bed she thinks she "automatically" has a diaper on and will pee unless I tell her, "Don't go pee pee, you don't have your diaper on yet" If your lil girl is in a pair of pants or underwear that for whatever reason feel a little "diaper-ish" to her, she might just go b/c she knows that sometimes the diaper will be there. Good luck!!
I had a similar situation when my daughter was potty trained. I felt worried she might have an accident in the car seat and would put Pull-ups on, just in case. (I didn't fancy cleaning up that mess, so you could say it was all about me.) One of the mothers in my Mommy and Me group made the comment that I was giving her the message that it was alright to pee in the car....one day I forgot to put the Pull-Up on and this voice in the back of the car goes "Mommy pee", I went into panic mode and found the nearest Starbucks thinking she would never make it. I was of course wrong, she proved to me that the problem was mine and she knew exactly when she needed to go.
