Does anybody know of a decent, fashionable resale/consignment shop for us moms, actually just women in general? I have a place close to me called Rusty's Resale, I went in there today and they wanted to give me $4.50 cash for $100 worth of clothing, I was highly disappointed. I'm not looking to make a bunch of money, but 4 precent, give me a break. I just want a place where I can take things and more than likely turn around and buy something "new". Any suggestions
You should try Spanky's in Vancouver. They sell clothes for women, men and kids. I have made a little money off my old clothes. I think they closed the main street store, so they just have the one on Millplain I believe.
I really don't know about local re sale shops, but I frequent diaperswapper.com and they have a buy, sell, and trade section for all sorts of things including clothing. Craigslist has always worked for me, too.

You invite friends over to your house with all the clothes they want to pass on.
One man's trash, another man's treasure as the sayimg goes.
Have a few mirrors ready, some snax, some wine. Everyone piles their clothes together and its a rummage sale with girlfriends, but even better you can try the clothes on and get an opinion.
I've been to several of these and come away with some great new outfits that I wouldn't have been able to buy with the sale of my clothes. Even better, its much more fun
I recently discovered Savvy Plus on SE 32nd and Hawthorne! I have yet to sell items there but they have a great selection for moms that are a bigger than average size :)

A place called 'Here we go Again', there is a location in southwest, and for sure one on Broadway and 25th in Northeast Portland. They sell very nice brand and quality resale. They pay 40% of the sale price of the item. Very nice staff too.

i have been to robin's resale in gresham and they pay 50%. the only request i can remember is you must consign a minimum 15 items. they take maternity too. hope this helps.
I am a fan of Village Merchants on SE 33rd & Division. I've never sold anything there but almost all my clothes come from there. The quality is great, the people friendly.
If you're looking for a PG/baby type resale store there's one on the South side of SE Clinton after 25th but can't remember the name of it.
There is a place on Mill Plain a couple miles east of I205 in Vancouver, WA called Spanky's. They give 40% and will only take in season and very nice stuff. I buy a lot of my clothes there and then sell as well. Good luck!
