Hey S.,
I'm L., I'm a 26 year old LPN and I'm currently going to Keiser College for the same thing. You're a month ahead of me though, I have one more gen ed to complete before I go to campus in May. Are you close to Deltona? I'm in physics right now, and I can't stand it one bit, lol. It's a rough subject, I can understand all the laws, but the math equations are tough, I almost feel retarded.
Speaking as a nurse, physics isn't going to be involved a great deal. I worked at a radiology office for two years while going to school for nursing and I am good friends with a girl who's a sonographer and she says she never has had to use physics. Belive me, I called her the first week of physics and asked "what did I get myself into"? They give us physics in our gen eds to see if we are able to use and apply logic when analyzing a problem, not because we will actually be computing equations and laws of physics. Don't worry, that is not our job to find the acceleration rate of a kidney stone, lol. We will be locating organs and vessels, the computer calculates the measurements.
There is some math involved, but she says no more than just basic algebra, nothing to fuss about. So don't worry, physics does not play an active role in this type of work, they just give it to us to let us see how things work.
Best of luck to you, and keep in touch. I would love to talk to you more. I just moved here with my husband and 11 month old son from Queens, NY and it's nice to meet someone I have something in common with.
