My 10 mo old also has a rash under her armpit. My ped said it was a fungal thing. We just put some Lotrimin cream on it per her advice, and that has helped a lot!
My soon to be 8 month old son has a rash about the size of a quarter in the crease of his armpit. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but I'm still a little concerned about it. Any ideas on what caused this rash, or if it's something I need to take him to the doctor for?

Does it look like yeast? Maybe just give your dr a call and see what they say.
Both my boys went through this and theirs wound up being a yeast infection and we went the Lotrimin route. Obviously check with your doc first, but that's my guess. Seems like a lot of moisture builds up there in some little bodies and with very little light it is a perfect breeding ground for germs. Also, along the lines of a diaper rash, be sure to get all the little creases there thoroughly dry after every bath by patting the area, not rubbing or air dry. I know my littles both loved to have their armpits blown on because it tickles them - a good game for an 8 month old. Good Luck!
Probably a yeast infection which is no big deal and easy to treat. Both of my kids got it in their neck folds. You might not even need to go into the doctor. If you can describe it over the phone they might just tell you can treat it.
could just be a heat thing....
May be eczema. My daughter has eczema and it usually appears in the creases of her arms (opposite side of arm from elbow), the armpit area and/or the creases on the backs of her legs.
