Has anyone bought a used device of a DS or Ipod from an internet site that gave a decent warrenty?
How did it work out ? I can not see myself paying the amount for my kids for these whole price.
any information as to where you found it and how it worked would be helpful.

What can I do next?

Yes! Cowboom. It is Best Buy's website for refurbished or trade in equipment and they offer a free 30 day waranty and you can purchase (for about $8 a year) a two year extended warranty.
My son lost his DSLite about a week after Chritmas - I was livid, but he ultimately the one who suffered. I refused to buy a new one, but for his birthday this year, I did some internet searching and found Cowboom.
I have been extremely happy with the process and the product. Complete replacement for only $80. Not sure if they have iPods, but I would check them out.
Good luck!

Go to Game Stop for a used DS. I know they are selling used Wii systems for %$119 with a O. year warranty. Great deal.

Apple gives a warranty for any refurbished products they sell. They treat them like a brand new product. Any refurb product they sell comes with that same product's "new" product warranty. Like any apple products, you can buy an extended warranty for additional cost that covers the product beyond the initial coverage period. I am typing this response on a refurbished imac that was purchased from them over a year ago. I bought the extended warranty (they call it an Applecare Plan) for it, and it cost the same as it would have cost to buy for a new product's warranty, and has the exact same coverage. Their refurb ipod sales work the same way.
